Blacktailed Rattlesnakes can live in a wide variety of habitats, from high pine forests to low desert around sea level. This one was found in Greenlee County, Arizona several years ago.

A Chihuahuan Whiptail from Greenlee County. This is one of several species of whiptail lizards in the area, darting around in grass and rocks as we walked the area looking for rattlesnakes.
