This place is looking forward to its first rattlesnake-free pool time this summer, thanks to new Rattlesnake Fencing installed by Baylend. You couldn’t fit a soda straw through any point around the perimeter of this place.

A tight installation of rattlesnake prevention materials to this patio gate from Daylan and Elias. It’s a shady spot by design, which can’t be ignored by wildlife that are also looking to get out of the heat. Covered patios emulate natural locations where rattlesnakes can naturally be found aestivating during the summer, and snake fencing is an effective way of making sure there are no surprises.

We got called out to a business on South Mountain right as the sun was going down, and as soon as the temperature dropped the rattlesnake retreated into a small hole in the block fence. There wasn’t a safe way to pull it out without risking injury to the snake, so we told them to call us back the next day when it came out on its own. It only had one way in and one way out, and around 10am the next morning it surfaced from the same spot and we were able to remove it easily. It was a very skinny snake, so hopefully the relocation area has better hunting opportunities than a block wall and pavement. South Phoenix.

This gate has been modified to prevent rattlesnakes of any age and size from entering the backyard. Combined with other changes to the outer perimeter, this year will be less stressful for this family than it was.

– No gaps larger than a baby rattlesnake = no baby rattlesnakes are getting in here.
– No access lower than how high the largest rattlesnakes in the area can go = no adult rattlesnakes are getting in here.
Rattlesnake fencing works when installed correctly. If a rattlesnake-free summer is in your plans for 2026, let’s talk about it. More information on Rattlesnake Fencing:

Trash = rodents = rattlesnakes = yikes
Our team sealed up this enclosed trash can area to have no gap larger than a quarter inch, making late night take-out-the-trash runs a less stressful event.

This courtyard is now off limits to rattlesnakes 🙂 It didn’t lose any of its looks, either, with some careful detail work from Michael on the fence installation team.

Winter is the best time to have rattlesnake fencing installed. Wait times and costs are both lowest, while the snake relocation hotline isn’t jumping off the hook. Here’s a recent example, with a homeowner planning ahead to a rattlesnake-free 2026.

It’s the little things that make a difference. To keep rattlesnakes out of a yard, there can be NO OPENINGS OR GAPS larger than 1/4″. This includes the gates and drains, and the little gaps all over the place. If you’ve got the “landscaper special”, this should be checked out.
Here’s a gate completed recently by our crew, on a backyard that will be a lot less stressful to hang out in this year.
