A California Kingsnake from Queen Creek was cruising around the homeowner’s front yard before eventually deciding the neighbor’s basketball hoop was the perfect hiding spot. That made for a pretty easy capture when Austin arrived.
The home backed up to open fields filled with brush trimmings and debris, providing excellent habitat for a kingsnake. Austin safely relocated the snake to suitable habitat within its estimated home range, where it can continue doing what kingsnakes do best.
A big Western Diamondback Rattlesnake that Jeff caught in Queen Creek recently. This is at a new development with a desert-integrated neighborhood, so there will always be at least some random encounters with rattlesnakes. Homeowners can have control of the situation by reducing heavy landscaping, water sources, keeping up on rodent control by non-poison methods, getting dogs snake avoidance trained, and installing rattlesnake fencing.
A late night call to Queen Creek had Maggie catching the heaviest rattlesnake she’s seen all season. This big Western Diamondback Rattlesnake was looking for a way out of the backyard when she arrived, but couldn’t fit! She helped get it to a better spot outside of the neighborhood.
