This beautiful Western Diamondback Rattlesnake was taking a dip in the family pool. The homeowner was doing some work on the pool when he spotted him swimming near the water feature. A few months ago, the homeowner was envenomated by a neonate Western Diamondback Rattlesnake, so this encounter understandably had him on edge and ready to call right away. Jon safely removed the snake and released him to suitable habitat within his estimated home range under the cover of a large rodent burrow.
The pool guy was working when he heard a rattle from an unseen snake. It disappeared quickly, but Marissa was able to find it in a rodent burrow near the pump, and get it back out to the desert.
A call came in late at night for a rattlesnake seen in a backyard, cruising all over the place. The property was clear of any clutter, and the snake was likely just therer to get a drink from the pool. Manny went out to help the snake find a better spot to hang out, though swimming does sound better than a packrat nest :\
