Nick found this shed skin on a recent property inspection service. Examining the scales and their arrangement identified this as coming from a Sonoran Gophersnake. The homeowners were informed that it’s nothing to worry about – though this pipe is quite a spot for any animal, including rattlesnakes, to hang out.
We have been performing this service once each month at this property for several years now. The property is monitored to advise landscapers, pest control operators, and the homeowners about situations that may attract rattlesnakes.
