A homeowner called after his child discovered two Western Diamondback Rattlesnakes coiled beneath a water splash table in the front yard.
Fortunately, the snakes were spotted before anyone got too close. The family was strongly opposed to killing wildlife and wanted the rattlesnakes safely removed rather than harmed.
The space beneath the water table apparently offered enough shelter for both snakes to settle in, although it was obviously not an ideal place for them to be, especially with children playing in the area.
Josh arrived quickly and safely captured both Western Diamondbacks. He then conducted a thorough inspection of the property to make sure there weren’t any additional rattlesnakes hiding elsewhere.
Both snakes were relocated to a wash within their estimated home ranges, where Josh found a deep rodent burrow surrounded by vegetation and released them directly into cover.
A good outcome for the family and both rattlesnakes, thanks in large part to homeowners who wanted the situation resolved without harming the animals.
