A Large Western Diamondback in Tanque Verde

A Large Western Diamondback in Tanque Verde

A family in Tanque Verde called after this large Western Diamondback Rattlesnake rattled at one of their kids in the backyard.

By the time David arrived, the snake had settled down near the back wall. It also appeared to have recently eaten, which may explain why it was more interested in finding a place to settle than continuing on its way.

The property sits right against open desert and has plenty of native habitat around it, so occasional rattlesnake visitors are part of living in this part of Tanque Verde.

David safely captured the Western Diamondback and relocated it within its estimated home range, releasing it directly into the deep cover of a packrat nest.
