If you’ve ever been hanging out and thinking “I wonder what the genitals of a male rattlesnake look like”, TODAY IS YOUR LUCKY DAY.
A Western Diamondback Rattlesnake was in a courtyard with the homeowner alerted to its presence when it rattled … nothing out of the usual there. But when it was to be released, the snakes’ hemipenes were entirely out of the body. This might be due to some unseen stress or damage that occurred prior to our involvement, but it’s unusual, and the snake showed no other signs of issues.
