Any backyard that backs up against native desert will experience at least some level of wildlife encounters. Even when the yard is perfectly clear of any useful features for animals, proximity is often enough as animals pass through or get stuck in the maze of block and stucco.
We recently completed rattlesnake fencing around the full perimeter of this home. The next year will be less stressful, as rattlesnakes have neither reason or access to be there.
