A homeowner on North Mountain called after spotting a rattlesnake in the backyard. By the time Mark arrived, the snake had already started making its way back toward the cover, but it was safely captured before it could disappear into inaccessible areas.
The rattlesnake was relocated within its native home range to a large pile of boulders with deep shade and secure cover, well away from homes and hiking trails. Encounters like this are common for properties bordering natural desert, where snakes occasionally pass through while moving between shelter, food, and water.
