A property manager was working at this mountainside home when he spotted a Southwestern Speckled Rattlesnake coiled in the shade beside a side door. Marissa found the snake tucked into the cool entryway, taking advantage of one of the few sheltered spots around the property. The home is built directly into the mountain, with easy access for wildlife to move through the area.

Relocating rattlesnakes on this mountain can be challenging because of the number of surrounding homes, but the homeowner was kind enough to allow Marissa access through the backyard. From there, she was able to hike the rattlesnake deeper into suitable rocky habitat within its estimated home range and release it away from nearby residences.
