A family’s children noticed a small blood spot on their dog’s nose and realized it wasn’t acting normally. After telling their parents, the dog was rushed to the veterinarian, where they confirmed it had been bitten by a Western Diamondback Rattlesnake. Wanting to make sure the snake wasn’t still in the yard, the family called us to inspect the property.

Marissa located the rattlesnake almost immediately, coiled in a shady corner near the back door. The backyard featured a fish pond, dense vegetation, a view fence, and backed directly up to the mountain, creating ideal conditions for wildlife. Marissa had actually been to this same property before for another rattlesnake. The homeowners had installed their own DIY rattlesnake fencing, but it wasn’t preventing snakes from entering the yard. After safely capturing the rattlesnake, Marissa relocated it to suitable habitat within its estimated home range.
