This homeowner spotted a large Western Diamondback Rattlesnake sitting in ambush among the plants in the garden and wisely gave us a call. The snake was exceptionally well camouflaged, making it easy to overlook until it was spotted. David was able to safely capture it without difficulty, and despite its impressive size, the rattlesnake remained calm throughout the encounter, never rattling or attempting to strike. Before being released, it was offered some fresh water, then relocated to suitable habitat within its native range where it could continue its important role in the ecosystem.
