A pet sitter at this two-acre horse property in Williamson Valley spotted a Sonoran Gophersnake near a small wood pile close to the home and contacted the homeowner.
While Dane was searching the area, he simultaneously heard and spotted the Sonoran Gophersnake halfway into a bush, clearly focused on something nearby. As he approached, a small rabbit suddenly ran out from the bush adjacent to the snake.
It was a pretty good glimpse into what the Sonoran Gophersnake had been doing before anyone knew it was there. Rather than simply hanging around the house, it appeared to be actively tracking potential prey through the vegetation.
