The homeowner’s daughters were playing on their swing set when they noticed this very relaxed Western Diamondback Rattlesnake hanging out in the backyard.
Aleksa found a few gaps in the block wall that could have provided access, along with a large puddle of water from the AC condensate. In a dry desert environment, that reliable water source may have been enough to bring the snake into the yard and give it a reason to stick around for a while.
The Western Diamondback was captured without much drama and relocated into the deep cover of a large packrat nest away from the home.
