Southwestern Speckled Rattlesnake Just Outside the Phoenix Mountains Preserve

This gorgeous Southwestern Speckled Rattlesnake was discovered by a Phoenix homeowner while she was watering her plants. With the property only about 30 yards from the Phoenix Mountains Preserve, the snake hadn’t traveled far from some excellent desert habitat.

Jon safely removed the Southwestern Speckled Rattlesnake and found it some new accommodations within its estimated home range: a large, protected rock crevice on the northern face of the mountain.
