This mature Western Diamondback Rattlesnake had it made at this North Phoenix property. The homeowner loves to garden, and the yard has developed into its own little desert forest of mature trees and shrubs. All of that vegetation attracts birds, rabbits, and plenty of other wildlife, making the property attractive to rattlesnakes as well.
This is one of several rattlesnakes the homeowner has called us to help with over the years. This time, Alivia found the Western Diamondback Rattlesnake parked directly in front of a large burrow running underneath the backyard greenhouse.
Alivia was able to contain the rattlesnake before it made a break back into the burrow. A nearby wash provided suitable habitat away from the surrounding homes, where she found another shaded burrow for the snake to disappear into.
