Baby rattlesnakes can be very small. Typically, in Arizona, the Western Diamondback Rattlesnake is around 8 to 10 inches long at birth.

They often toss them over the fence but its size made them concerned there was more or a ‘nest’ nearby. I searched their yards, reassured them any snakes were likely in the wash next to them and rattlesnake fencing would be an effective preventative measure. Released into heavy cover with evidence of rodents near a wash on public lands. “
