A home next to a preserve in Phoenix had a visitor in the shaded space between the home and a column. Katie helped the Western Diamondback Rattlesnake get back to the preserve, carefully selecting a spot that emulates the situation of capture.

Western Diamondback Rattlesnakes may look similar, but when viewed side-by-side, there’s a lot of variation! Here are just a handful from recent relocation calls.

A Western Diamondback Rattlesnake was found coiled up in a lush courtyard. The deep cover and water in the area is very useful to small animals, including rattlesnakes. Cheyenne safely captured the snake and relocated it to suitable cover in an adjacent preserve.

A Sonoran Gophersnake made its way into a chicken coop, and had recently found a meal. Chicken coops are magnets for snakes because they also attract other prey items, like rodents and other birds. Apryl helped it get back out.

Two separate kingsnakes relocated from a hole alongside a Scottsdale patio. These are harmless snakes, but we understand that sharing space with snakes of any kind can be a longer term project. In the meantime, the snakes get to survive with a bit of inconvenience.
