Two Kingsnakes Rescued from Bird Netting

This homeowner had already dealt with one Kingsnake tangled in bird netting around her garden just a few days earlier. Then today, she discovered two more Kingsnakes caught in the same netting in her backyard.

Marissa was able to carefully free both snakes, and fortunately their injuries were limited to some minor scale damage that should heal completely after a few sheds. It seemed very likely the snakes were visiting the garden area for water, especially since the property also had rabbits living beneath a nearby shed.

The homeowner was actually happy to let the snakes remain on the property after learning they could help control rodents. The home sits right alongside a golf course and had a cactus with an active packrat nest nearby. When Marissa released the snakes into the opening, a rat immediately came running out, which only reinforced why the homeowner wanted to keep them around.
