2017-09-12 3:00 PM	Scottsdale	85258	Western Diamondback and Coachwhip	Karen had workers doing some yard work around her pool when they noticed a snake within her agave plant wedged between her pool and the fence. After taking a closer look, they noticed there were two: a coachwhip and a rattlesnake literally right next to each other. Karen also had snake fencing that was installed by the previous owner. Upon inspection, i noticed many areas where rats dug under that potentially created an entryway for the snakes.

Home owner sent me a photograph to identify but could not be more specific than that it was not a rattlesnake, and gave the option to leave it in place or have us out. Home owner opted to have us come out, where it was discovered that the snake was actually a Tiger Whiptail, looking to be displaced and a bit rough from recent rainfall.

This afternoon they found a tiger rattlesnake slithering down the hall. After removing that I didn't inspection around the property and found another large western diamondback rattlesnake under the AC unit.

He then saw a shed under the only bush he has next to his house in his front yard. Today he saw the tiger rattlesnake coiled up next to the water spigot in the front yard up against the house. The ground was moist so I think the snake just used the spot to shed and get some water. The rest of the yard was pretty bare. Across the street from the house is south mountain and some nice rocky terrain.

He missed and woke the snake up. Then he ran away but let the pole stay on the snakes tail pinning it there. The snake may have broken a few bones but it seemed to be moving just fine when I released it. The home is located right by Phoenix mountain park.
