Tucson | 85641 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | This homeowner called us after discovering a juvenile Western Diamondback Rattlesnake in her front yard. She’s no stranger to rattlesnakes, as I’ve removed several from this property before. When I arrived, the homeowner had already secured the snake in a tote bin. I removed the lid, grabbed the snake, and secured it in the bucket. The snake was released into a large rodent burrow in a nearby habitat that’s still within its native range. |

6:00 PM |
Scottsdale | 85259 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | The homeowner called after seeing a rattlesnake on the side of their home near the pool pump. This was a brand new fence client, however, the snake was not inside the fenced area. The side yard was an enclosed area between the house and a 5-foot-tall retaining wall. Access to the back yard from this area was through a newly snake-proofed gate, and a drain hole in the block wall to get to the front yard. This is also where the pool pump and equipment was located. When I first saw the snake, it was unsuccessfully trying to find a way into the backyard through the snake fencing. When it saw me, it retreated under the large, hollow base of the pool filter. It took almost an hour of constant running water to finally flush the snake out. The snake could have entered the area at any time from above the retaining wall, which was at ground level at the top, or through the drain in the block wall. There is also a chance the snake was hiding under the base of the pool filter the entire time. Based on the amount of time and water it took to remove, it would have been nearly impossible to know that a snake was hiding inside without actually witnessing it enter. No other snakes were found. |

Phoenix | 85041 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | During the call with this nice and seemingly calm customer, he had stated to me that upon bringing groceries into the house he had spotted a large, confirmed rattlesnake that was coiled up in a corner near his house in the front courtyard, after his first gate. Once arrived, I quickly captured this gentle giant without a fight or single rattle and proceeded to inspect the rest of the property. I noticed there was a small gap under the fence where this healthy rattlesnake most likely gained entry from the desert wash in his side-front yard to his courtyard. The customer also mentioned this was not their first rattlesnake and they often see wildlife which often come from the wash next to their property and the preserve behind them. Overall, the rest of the property was very well maintained with little sheltered spaces for the diamondback to hide or spots for entry besides the fence gaps. Furthermore, no other wildlife was found upon inspection and after being given some water, I hiked this male western back into the preserve, where it could live out the rest of its life peacefully away from residence. |

Phoenix | 85022 | Sonoran Gophersnake | Caller reported a rattlesnake (identified by a family member) coiled by the front door. Upon arrival, I quickly identified the snake as a Sonoran Gophersnake. The snake was taking advantage of the shade and standing water in the potted plant overflow basin. The snake was removed without incident and no other snakes were recovered. The snake is missing a small portion of its tail and it has scarred over. |

Peoria | 85383 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | A contractor at a new home build discovered a small rattlesnake on the side of the home in the shade under an AC drain line. The home was being built at a new golf course community not far from open, native desert. As always, I took a look around the rest of the property. The backyard was virtually empty. There was a pool, but no mature landscaping yet. There was a view fence with a very low footer separating the yard from the golf course. I did not find any other snakes, but I did leave our snake id/fence information behind for the homeowner when they move in. |

Scottsdale | 85266 | Mojave Rattlesnake | After receiving a call, the customer had stated she had originally spotted and confirmed a rattlesnake in her backyard when she went to let her dog out. However, she was comfortable enough to watch it until my arrival, and upon my arrival, it had moved under her gate into her front yard, where I was then able to capture it near some dead foliage. After the capture, I then made sure to inspect the rest of her property, but found nothing else. The customer had also stated this was not their first rattlesnake call and had used our company in the past as well. Her property was very close to a desert preserve, with multiple entry points into her backyard for the rattlesnake, and a huge shaded area on her side property that she shares with the neighbor, full of shrubs and foliage for shade, which is most likely the reason for its presence on the property. Upon capture of this young Mojave, I then returned it back to the desert preserve and hiked it away from all the residential areas to live out the rest of its life. |

Cave Creek | 85331 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | The homeowners called us after seeing a rattlesnake in their chicken coop. This home was in a rural area just outside of Cave Creek and surrounded by native desert. The snake was found resting in a shady area inside of the coop. There were no chickens present at the time. The property was large, with a lot of places to hide including sheds, other structures, animal enclosures, and various gardens and landscaping. I searched as much as possible and was surprised to not find any additional snakes. |

Scottsdale | 85255 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | The homeowner called after seeing a rattlesnake on the side of his home headed towards the back yard. I arrived and took a quick look around the back yard, which was small, clean and completely empty. There was almost no landscaping and very few structures to hide under. Around the opposite side of the home from where the snake was last seen, there was a small stack roof tiles left over from a recent project. The snake was found hiding under one of these tiles, which was the only shade available in the immediate area. The property was in the middle of a development, but situated in between two natural drainages, both of which led out to more native habitat. |

Phoenix | 85085 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | The homeowner contacted us after discovering a small rattlesnake at the bottom of a deep basement window well. There were recently hatched quail eggs at the top of the window well, and a dead baby quail at the bottom near the snake. The home sat on the boundary of lots of native desert on State Trust land. The yard had a lot of irrigated landscaping, piles of firewood, and lots of other places to hide. Surprisingly, no snake has ever been discovered on the property. I searched the property and did not find anything else. |

Mesa | 85207 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | The homeowners called after going to take their trash out to the road and they heard the buzzing of a small rattlesnake. They spotted the snake and called our hotline to which I came out and the snake was as described behind the garbage cans. The snake was extremely small still for this time of year, but I noticed that it had some old injuries that looked as though they had healed at this point. Perhaps stunting its growth a bit. I contained the snake and brought it to the next nearby desert habitat and released it appropriately into deep cover with lots of nearby resources. The home it was relocated from is in a gated community that sits against the mountainside of a small local Mountain with lots of natural habitat. The home has partially block fencing and partially view fencing, but we discussed the potential of rattlesnake-proofing their backyard. They also have dogs. They are interested in getting rattlesnake aversion training or at least doing the fencing to protect them in the backyard. |

Tucson | 85742 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | This homeowner is no stranger to rattlesnakes, as she’s called us in the past to remove rattlesnakes at her old property. She called after her husband found a Western Diamondback sitting in ambush against the retaining wall in the backyard. This rattlesnake alerted the husband with its rattle before he even knew it was there. When I arrived, I secured the snake in the bucket and found a suitable nearby habitat to release the snake into. A deep rodent burrow underneath a dead Saguaro in a nearby wash ended up being the perfect spot, as I found another Western Diamondback sitting in ambush not too far away. |

Cave Creek | 85331 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | Dispatched a call about a baby rattlesnake in the side yard. Arrived at home and was greeted by the homeowner who escorted me to the backyard. The customer stated they initially noticed a snake on the back patio on the north end of the home and it slowly made its way to the side yard on the west. Snake eventually settled underneath a metal ramp that was on the ground. Lifted the ramp and noticed a small (< 1 year) atrox in ambush. Utilized giant tweezers to capture and secure the snake with no issue. Performed inspection for the rest of the yard and no snakes were found. *** Customer stated that they had a fencing quote from RS before but did not move forward with it. The customer would like to have fencing installed now. *** |

Cave Creek | 85331 | Sonoran Gophersnake | The homeowners called stating that there was a snake in the bedroom that they contained under a small waste basket but were unsure of what kind of snake it was. They said that the snake was hissing and striking out at them so they were too afraid to lift the bucket to remove the snake on their own. When I arrived the snake was as described under a wastebasket. I slowly lifted the waste basket and was able to quickly identify that it was a Sonoran gopher snake which I easily captured and placed into a bag for relocation. The home is located in a semi-rural Cave Creek community surrounded by lots and lots of natural desert habitat and not far from a hiking area. The homeowner stated that they had once seen a snake come from the closet that contained the air heating and handling unit which goes up into the attic. It is open to the attic and there was lots of light coming in. I encourage them to either seal the closet that is in or to have someone go up into the attic and spray foam or seal any possible holes into the house and to look for other holes into the house as the homeowners were certain that they never left any doors open to the outside as they have a cat that is indoor only. The homeowners expressed interest in the snake fencing, but I was unable to go out to the backyard and check out what they were already working with. Since the snake was captured inside the home, a deeper conversation would need to be had to understand their wishes around that. Otherwise, I explained that gopher snakes are very good climbers while rattlesnakes are not. I then relocated the snake to the nearby slate trailhead. Not far up the street underneath a large boulder. |

Surprise | 85387 | Mojave Rattlesnake | Received call about a rattlesnake in a backyard. Arrived at home and greeted customer in the side yard. Customer showed me a video of the snake. Video was from a distance and grainy and I initially ID’d snake as an atrox. Customer stated the last he saw snake it was in a defensive posture crawling away from home towards block wall north of the patio. Customer stated he kept an eye around areas of the yard the snake could exit until I arrived but didn't not see any movement. Home was on a corner lot and backyard was large. A large block wall surrounded entire yard with points of entry in either side yard (one gate and another a lattice drainage block). I noticed two expansion gaps in the wall that were approximately a half - 3/4 inch wide. Two thirds of the wall was lined with dense and overgrown vegetation with accumulated leaf litter underneath. Spent the majority of my time inspecting underneath the vegetation, using my hook to rake through the leaf litter. After my third pass I asked customer if I could use their water hose to try to see if I could get anything moving. Customer agreed and I spent approximately three minutes spraying the first area until I noticed a snake moving behind some of the vegetation. I approached snake and utilized tongs to capture and bucket with no issue. Once I saw the snake I realized it was in fact a sub adult Mojave. There were no points of entry in the neighborhood that would have been easy access to this home for the snake. IE the snake would have had to travel 10 houses down and then 10 houses up to reach the front of this house. The snake was small enough that I do think it likely entered through the back wall through the expansion gaps. |

Carefree | 85377 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | The caller reported a juvenile western diamondback coiled up on the back patio. When I arrived the snake was under a large storage bin and in a coiled position. I was able to quickly remove the snake without incident. An inspection was performed and no additional snakes were recovered. The rear side gate is the only place the snake could have made entry. As such, I advised client to mirror the protection that is on the other gate to ensure he does not have a rattlesnake in the rear yard again. |

Phoenix | 85083 | Sonoran Gophersnake | Very nice couple who moved into this house 3 years ago. They are avid gardeners and have planted a lot of plants to eat with their Indian cooking. As well as a plethora of fruit trees. They have had rattlesnakes before, although, today it was just a sonoran gophersnake. Their neighbors have used our services so they decided to today and are interested in snake fencing for the future. Mostly block wall with side gate. Some areas where the block wall has gaps in corners. |

Tucson | 85741 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake, Sonoran Gophersnake | This homeowner called when he found a Sonoran Gophersnake sticking its head out of an irrigation valve box in his backyard. Unsure if it was a rattlesnake or not, he called and gave me a description of the snake to check. I told the homeowner based on the description it sounded like a Sonoran Gophersnake: and explained that they are harmless and are great to have around for pest control. As we were conversing, the homeowner was startled when he saw a large adult Western Diamondback Rattlesnake cruising through the grass- headed straight for the irrigation box. I jumped in the car and began heading that way. While I was en route, the Western Diamondback decided to hang out with the Gophersnake in the irrigation box until I arrived. Once I arrived, I carefully opened the lid of the irrigation box using my tongs and found the 2 snakes together. The homeowner said he was fine leaving the Gophersnake, but definitely wanted the rattlesnake gone. I secured the rattlesnake in the bucket, and relocated it to a nearby wash, and sent it down into a deep rodent burrow. |

Cave Creek | 85331 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | A large western diamondback was seen in a raised flower bed with lots of shade and moisture. When I arrived, the snake had moved further down behind some very dense foliage. I was able to locate a very sizable, male, Western Diamondback. I performed a property inspection and found a fairly new shedding from another smaller Atrox. The property is massive and there is an incredible abundance of prey items, shelter and water. This property will likely be no stranger to us and will most likely have calls in the future. |

Tucson | 85742 | Gila Monster | This homeowner called when he found a Gila Monster relaxing in his kitchen. This homeowner was getting his kitchen redone, and believes contractors left the door open- which allowed this beautiful lizard to enter his home. He knew it couldn’t stay, and called us right away. When I arrived, I carefully secured the Gila in the bucket using my hook and tongs to support and balance his body while I placed him gently into the bucket. After giving him some water, we took a short hike into nearby habitat and found a deep den that would make for a suitable release spot. I sent the Gila down into the den to escape the heat, and live out the rest of its life in appropriate habitat within its home range. |
