A cleaning crew found this Western Diamondback Rattlesnake lounging on the front porch, and the spot it chose was a little ironic: it was sitting right in a pile of snake repellent.
Michael arrived and safely removed the Western Diamondback Rattlesnake. With a preserve directly across the street, he was able to release it within its estimated home range, deep inside a packrat nest where it had natural cover and shelter.
Snake repellents are commonly marketed as a way to keep snakes away, but finding a Western Diamondback Rattlesnake comfortably resting directly in a pile of it is a pretty good reminder not to rely on them for snake prevention.
