Snake was a baby but not a neonate, But likely born this season. Likely in the backyard attracted to drip sprinklers and shade from landscaping.

Back yard had plenty of shade and cool places like pool equipment for snake to seek shelter. No evidence of rodent activity, so likely a coincidence that snake was there in my opinion. Large rattlesnake was chilling right under an oleander tree in the corner of the yard and likely got over some haphazard fencing. Prime candidate for our rattlesnake fencing, and very interested, as they have a dog.
