Tucson 85745 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake This homeowner was tending to his garden when he found a juvenile Western Diamondback coiled under one of his plants. After a quick web search, he called us and we were en route within minutes. When I arrived, the snake was still coiled- sitting in ambush. I secured him in the bucket and found a suitable nearby habitat to release the snake into. I found a large, deep rock structure that would make for a perfect release spot. The snake was released, and both parties were able to go about the rest of their day.

Tucson 85748 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake This homeowner called after she noticed her dog barking at something in the backyard. When she went outside to investigate, she saw a Western Diamondback Rattlesnake coiled in the corner. Thankfully, her dog alerted her of the unwelcome visitor. Thankfully the dog never got bit, but was quick to address the snakes presence. After a quick web search, she called us and I was on the road within minutes. When I arrived, the snake unfortunately moved from its original location. After some careful searching, I decided to look underneath a storage cabinet full of gardening tools. After carefully pulling each bottom drawer out, I found the snake coiled in a dark, cool corner underneath one of the shelves. I grabbed the snake, secured it in the bucket, and relocated it to a nearby wash into a deep rodent den.

Tucson 85704 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake This homeowner is no stranger to rattlesnakes, as she’s had several on her property in the past. She found this Western Diamondback Rattlesnake cruising along her fence in her backyard. When arrived, the snake was enjoying the shade in a prickly pair patch. I secured the snake and safely relocated it to a nearby wash and sent it down a rodent burrow- still within its native range, but far enough away to not be a problem for any other homeowners.

Tucson 85710 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake A homeowner called when they found a juvenile Western Diamondback Rattlesnake in their backyard early in the morning. Although not the way they wanted to start their Sunday morning, I arrived quickly to remove the snake. When I arrived, I observed a complex situation that many don’t get to witness- predation in real time. The rattlesnake recently struck a Desert Spiny Tail lizard, and was patiently waiting for the venom to do its job. Disrupting a hunt isn’t ideal, but having a rattlesnake in your yard is even less ideal. I secured the rattlesnake and its soon-to-be meal in the bucket, and released it to nearby habitat within its home range. I sent the rattlesnake down into a packrat nest and placed the lizard inside the entrance of the burrow, that way the snake could finish what it started.

Tucson 85750 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake This homeowner called when he discovered a Western Diamondback Rattlesnake cruising around his cactus garden in the backyard. I arrived quickly and secured this docile adult in the bucket. I was able to find nearby habitat to release the snake into that was still within its home range. Although, this rattlesnake hit the jackpot for a new home. I found a large active freshwater stream near a canyon that made for the perfect new home. I found an active rodent den alongside the stream that was teeming with vegetation and life. Having an abundant food and water source will set this animal up for success and live a long, healthy life without human conflict.

Tucson 85741 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake, Sonoran Gophersnake This homeowner called when he found a Sonoran Gophersnake sticking its head out of an irrigation valve box in his backyard. Unsure if it was a rattlesnake or not, he called and gave me a description of the snake to check. I told the homeowner based on the description it sounded like a Sonoran Gophersnake: and explained that they are harmless and are great to have around for pest control. As we were conversing, the homeowner was startled when he saw a large adult Western Diamondback Rattlesnake cruising through the grass- headed straight for the irrigation box. I jumped in the car and began heading that way. While I was en route, the Western Diamondback decided to hang out with the Gophersnake in the irrigation box until I arrived. Once I arrived, I carefully opened the lid of the irrigation box using my tongs and found the 2 snakes together. The homeowner said he was fine leaving the Gophersnake, but definitely wanted the rattlesnake gone. I secured the rattlesnake in the bucket, and relocated it to a nearby wash, and sent it down into a deep rodent burrow.

Tucson 85742 Gila Monster This homeowner called when he found a Gila Monster relaxing in his kitchen. This homeowner was getting his kitchen redone, and believes contractors left the door open- which allowed this beautiful lizard to enter his home. He knew it couldn’t stay, and called us right away. When I arrived, I carefully secured the Gila in the bucket using my hook and tongs to support and balance his body while I placed him gently into the bucket. After giving him some water, we took a short hike into nearby habitat and found a deep den that would make for a suitable release spot. I sent the Gila down into the den to escape the heat, and live out the rest of its life in appropriate habitat within its home range.

Tucson 85742 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake This homeowner is no stranger to rattlesnakes, as she’s called us in the past to remove rattlesnakes at her old property. She called after her husband found a Western Diamondback sitting in ambush against the retaining wall in the backyard. This rattlesnake alerted the husband with its rattle before he even knew it was there. When I arrived, I secured the snake in the bucket and found a suitable nearby habitat to release the snake into. A deep rodent burrow underneath a dead Saguaro in a nearby wash ended up being the perfect spot, as I found another Western Diamondback sitting in ambush not too far away.
