When I showed up the snake had not moved. I was able to quickly secure it and did a quick sweep of the backyard. The snake was released within a mile into a wash in a large packrat nest.

When I arrived he discovered that his dog was limping and appeared to have been bitten. Flank looked slightly swollen. The snake, a large male Western Diamondback Rattlesnake was captured and taken to an appropriate release site.

When that didn’t happen they called us for removal. This was a 3 ft + chocolate brown colored male Western Diamondback Rattlesnake.

Identifying the snake homeowner called to have it relocated. Upon arrival, the snake was identified to be deceased and removed off property. The surrounding area of where the snake was located is open desert between houses within the neighborhood where these snakes could take a refuge.

Having identified where the snake was, she closed it into the garage door. Upon arrival, I located the snake as it was exiting the garage and identified it as a Lyre snake. Homeowner informed me about there being a resident snake in her backyard that she wanted to have located. Upon canvassing the backyard I identified a tiger Rattlesnake. The surrounding area where the snakes have been located is an open desert surrounded by other homes

9:00 PM		 Tucson 85704 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake, Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowner was coming in from a drive when he noticed a rattlesnake curled up at the base of the side gate to the backyard. Having noticed this, the homeowner called for relocation. During relocation, the homeowner expressed that another snake is living in their backyard and I decided to go and take a look where I found a second diamondback rattlesnake. The area within is open desert from the backyard and beyond.

8:00 AM		 Tucson 85745 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowner called when he discovered a young Western Diamondback Rattlesnake coiled in his backyard near his garden. When I arrived, the snake was on the move, headed straight for the hose hideaway box. It managed to escape under the box, so I carefully moved the box, secured the snake, and picked an appropriate habitat nearby to release it to. A deep rodent burrow under a mesquite became its new home.

10:30 AM		 Tucson 85835 Coachwhip This homeowner called when she stepped outside and discovered a large, beautiful pink and black Coachwhip that was stuck under the flashing on the side of her house. She sent me pictures before I arrived so I could get a better idea of the situation, and the Coachwhip was wedged tightly under the metal flashing against the stucco wall. Coincidentally, when I was walking back to my van to grab some tools, I saw another large Coachwhip making its way across the driveway and slithered into nearby habitat. With the help of some hand tools and cooking spray, I was able to bend and flex the metal flashing just far enough away from the snakes body that it could begin working itself out. The snake and I worked together in unison, as I pulled the metal flashing slowly and carefully back and forth away from the wall while the snake moved from side to side, slowly gaining leverage and space to move. After a few minutes, the snake was able to free itself and slithered right into the surrounding habitat. Thankfully, the homeowner lives in a remote area of the desert with lots of great habitat, and doesn’t mind having the Coachwhip stay. In the end, the Coachwhip was able to be saved without any injuries and returned back to its native home range.

Concerned because the neighbors next door have kids that play back there, she called us to come remove it. I arrived quickly, secured the snake, and released it into appropriate habitat down into a rodent burrow within its home range.

7:30 PM		 Tucson 85748 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake Snake was coiled up on top of a ground cover plant next to a large yucca in the caller’s backyard. The yard is enclosed with standard view fencing, it has a swimming pool, rodent activity, and copious ground cover vegetation especially by the back porch. The view fencing has been modified by the homeowner with chicken wire and approximately 1 foot of fine wire mesh in an attempt to prevent snakes from getting into the yard. The homeowner is very interested in a quote for fencing.

When I got there, I offered to take a Look around the general area as they’ve been previous customers before on multiple occasions finding rattlers, and I immediately found a second potentially gravid female within 5 feet of the other. The surrounding area of the home is open desert land with a minimum of 300 yards between each home. Both the front and backyard are exposed to an open desert scape.

5:30 PM		 Tonopah 85354 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake, Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowner was remodeling his home when he took out a wall and saw a rattlesnake coiled inside. This is an old home and it has a basement. There was a hole on the outside of the stucco that allowed the rattlesnakes to get in. There ended up being two snakes, both snakes were coiled right by one another. He found two snakes skins further down the wall earlier. The home has nothing but miles of desert around it.

The guy doing the work opened the door and instantly got rattled at. He dropped his things and got out of there. When I walked in the snake did rattle and then I saw it on a near by shelf about eye level. The snake had shed its skin down there and was probably getting cozy for winter. The home had a lot of desert around it and plenty of places on the property for a snake to hide, like a workshop that wasn’t sealed well and lots of stacked debris.

10:30 AM		 Tonopah 85354 Sonoran Gophersnake The homeowner saw a sidewinder in her backyard yesterday afternoon, but it had gone into a rodent hole by her chicken coop. She tried watering it out but it didn’t show its face again. Today she was watering it out again and she saw a head poke out and it ended up being a gophersnake so she kept that one. We never did see the sidewinder. She has a large acre lot but there isn’t any vegetation on it. She does have a shed and shipping container in the back yard that I looked under as best I could. The fence is all mesh around the yard.

The crew had been watching it; it remained in the same spot for several hours before they decided to call. The listed address is inaccurate and was only used because it is the closest one to the site. The job site is in the early stages of construction and is surrounded by open desert on all sides, with no homes nearby. The sidewinder appeared to be a healthy female, though relatively small for its age (estimated to be several years old based on the rattle). It did not strike or rattle and seemed quite tired, though in my experience this species tends to be more docile when captured.

It was released into a large well fed wash. There was a large tree at the side of the wash with a plethora of pat rack nest and ground squirrel holes.

8:00 AM		 Tonopah 85354 Mojave Rattlesnake Rattlesnake in a machine part in a "cubby hole"; they were watching it. Arrived and found a large adult Mojave rattlesnake sitting under a shipping container. Captured the snake. Was made aware that a baby had also been seen. After a few minutes of waiting, a small neonate Mojave rattlesnake emerged from under the container and was captured using tweezers. Waited a bit longer and flushed the hole with a bucket of water; no other snakes emerged. Reports from other workers indicate the other babies had already dispersed.

The Western Diamondback was curled up against the side of the home when I arrived. Tons of open desert, no fences at all in this yard. Lots of wood piles and access points for snakes to get under the home. Recommended that the homeowners clean up some of the debris and seal off the access points because they are completely surrounded by rattlesnake habitat with no barrier. Snake was released into a large pack rat nest in a wash that was within its estimated home range.

Arrived on site and investigated the area mentioned by the customer who called. Upon arrival, several neighbors arrived and informed me the snake was spotted at another location in the neighborhood which was announced on next door I drove to that location and inspected the entire green belt area. During the inspection, the adult son of the person who spotted the snake informed me that what was actually spotted was a large palm leaf blowing across the road at 2 pm today. Informed HOA president that we offer free identification and that if the “snake” is spotted again, to contact our hotline directly and watch it which will be relayed on the same forum
