Cave Creek | 85262 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | Caller reported a rattlesnake on the patio. I found the snake coiled by a large pot on the backyard patio. It was a yearling with a bolus. The yard had dense vegetation that needed trimming. Behind the view fence was a drainage leading to more desert, and some vegetation was overlapping the fence. |

Cave Creek | 85331 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | The homeowner spotted this rattlesnake hanging out underneath a bush in her yard while she was doing yard work. One side of the property had open fencing all the way to the ground, which was the likely entry point. This was our second visit to this property this year. The homeowner understands the risks associated with desert living and has no problem with the snakes coming and going. This one had decided to hang out for a while, so it was time to go. It was relocated just outside the neighborhood into a large pack rat nest underneath a bush. |

Cave Creek | 85262 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | Customer reports a baby rattlesnake in her fenced yard. She plans to capture it and place it in a bucket. Customer states there are holes in the fence allowing animals to enter. This issue is not covered under warranty; however, the customer refuses to pay. Due to her prior customer service history, she is choosing to capture the snake herself despite being advised not to. Final payment decision will be made after inspection of the fencing and consultation with management. |

Cave Creek | 85331 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | This home is a previous fence customer whose warranty has run out. Upon inspection, I could not identify a clear point where the snake had penetrated the fence or gate. The only questionable area was the overhanging trees from the neighbor’s wide-open yard that extended into the property. With a known pack rat problem, my assumption is that the snake saw potential prey from the branches of the overhanging trees and went for it. The snake was found stuck in a rodent box with its head out one side and tail out the other. There was a snap in the middle pinning the snake in place. I met Bryan to hand off the snake (still in |

Cave Creek | 85331 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | Customer is out of town for the next month but would like a fencing estimate….. This western diamondback was seen by the homeowner while out in the yard picking up after their dog. The snake was curled up next to a bike tire. There were small gaps by the gate and the back of the yard also had a few openings but I believe it came in through the gap between the house and the wall. The yard was full of snake loving landscape, low bushes with debris under them. Quick easy capture and hiked into the desert for a release into a pack rat nest. Tried to give him water but he wasn’t interested. |

Cave Creek | 85331 | Nightsnake | What started as a non venomous snake in a glue trap turned into three non venemous snakes in a glue trap. The three desert nightsnakes entered through a gap in the garage corner where glue traps were waiting. Thanks to Apryl’s notes I brought vegetable oil which allowed me to free all three snakes. |

Cave Creek | 85331 | Sonoran Gophersnake | The customer had already been visited twice by Marissa for a reported “rattlesnake.” Today, the homeowner saw another snake on his back patio, and I ran over since I was only a mile away. The “rattlesnake” turned out to be a feisty, bright orange gopher snake that likely entered the property through the back view fence, where I found three pack rat nests. I gave the snake a quick trip out to the desert and released it into a new pack rat nest. |

She tried to grab it with some tongs, but it was pretty large and she couldn’t get a secure hold. When I arrived, the snake was still coiled up by the barn. The property has a large, open yard, along with a barn that stores hay and a large shed. There is also some natural desert surrounding the home and the neighboring properties. |

Cave Creek | 85331 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | The homeowner found the snake on their back patio while watering plants. When I arrived, the snake was still coiled on the patio next to a freshly watered potted plant, apparently using the cover to escape the sun and likely enjoying the water draining from the bottom of the planter. |

Cave Creek | 85331 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | Customer reported seeing a snake in a planter approximately 15 minutes prior to arrival and was not actively monitoring it but still requested service. Upon arrival, I located a healthy adult western diamondback rattlesnake coiled in a flower pot, taking advantage of the cool, damp soil from recent watering performed by the customer when she discovered the snake. The snake was safely captured. I then searched the front yard thoroughly and found no additional snakes. |

Cave Creek | 85331 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | Received a call about a rattlesnake in a living room. Customer stated she was waiting in her backyard along with her dog and would not go back inside until the snake was gone. Arrived at home and met customer on the front porch. Customer pointed in the general area she last saw the snake. Customer stated that two hours prior she has her back door propped open for her elderly dog with mobility issues. Door was open for approximately 10 minutes. Later in the evening she noticed the snake behind her couch near a coffee table. She said snake rattled and was about “a yard in length” and approximately 2” in diameter. Customer said she began coaxing her dog off of the couch and went to the backyard. Customer stated the last she saw the snake it was moving towards the dining area which was just to the right of the front entrance of the home. Entered home and inspected it in its entirety several times. Customer kept floor largely free of anything other than furniture which made seeing every inch of the floor possible. I didn’t have to move many items. While in the kitchen I checked both sides of the refrigerator and saw nothing. I looked as best I could underneath the refrigerator but still saw no snake. Also checked front and backyards. Backyard was large but mostly free of places a snake could seek refuge long term. Back yard surrounded by block walls with a couple of spaces between neighboring walls that something could get through. Wall in one of the side yards had small drainage hole (I believe snake entered backyard through here). Gate in other side yard was older and wooden and would have been difficult for a snake to get through but not impossible. Informed customer that there was no snake in the house but if she saw it within the next three days to call us and we would remove it for free. I left the property and received a text from customer about 20 minutes later saying she thinks the snake is behind the refrigerator. Returned to the home and this time noticed the head of an atrox peeking out from behind the refrigerator. Noticed it on the side next to the counter. I moved the refrigerator out enough to get a visual on the full snake. Used tongs to capture and bucket with no issue. |

Cave Creek | 85331 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | A homeowner in Cave Creek called about a western diamondback rattlesnake curled up on his front patio. There is a large wash across the street and many new homes in the area, so the snakes are likely returning to their usual summer spots and finding houses there now. The homeowner’s yard was fairly well kept; however, there were a few large lantana plants that I recommended he keep trimmed and well maintained. The snake was released into a large packrat nest in the wash across the street, away from homes but still within its home range. |

Cave Creek | 85331 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | The homeowner had landscapers out, and they discovered the snake in the backyard. The snake was just off the back patio, coiled up in a shady corner against the home. The yard was well-kept, probably because the landscapers had just been there. They had a view fence with some desert behind them. This community has desert between the homes and several washy areas that split the homes. |

Cave Creek | 85331 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | The homeowner spotted this western diamondback curled up beneath a backyard bush. The property had desert on three sides and gaps under multiple gates. My guess is that it came through the back gate, which was right next to a wash. The snake was easily secured, given some water, and released. |

Cave Creek | 85331 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | The homeowner saw a rattlesnake go into a hole by his pool. This snake had been seen three days in a row around the property. I grabbed a hose and put it in the hole, walked over to turn the water on, and by the time I got back the snake had already vacated the hole and darted into another hole nearby. I then started flooding that hole and, while waiting, walked around the pool deck. Lo and behold, the snake was at eye level up in a palm tree. The home sits on 5 acres, is surrounded by desert, and clearly has an extensive underground tunnel system. I was able to grab the snake out of the palm and release it nearby into a pack rat nest. |

Cave Creek | 85331 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | Received a call about a rattlesnake in a backyard. Customers stated they believed the snake had just eaten something because it was slow and fat. I advised them it could be a gravid snake. When I arrived at the home, I was escorted to the backyard by the customer. They said they first noticed the snake stretched out in the yard while taking out the garbage. They also pointed out a large, dead spiny lizard they believed the snake was about to eat. They showed me where they last saw the snake move underneath a large cycad near the pool. I did a quick perimeter search of the backyard first before inspecting underneath the cycad. I used a hook to lift up the foliage of the cycad and noted a large atrox in ambush against the plant. I used the hook in an attempt to drag the snake out from underneath the plant before using tongs to capture it. The snake moved around the cycad, and I used tongs to capture it and the hook for support in case the snake was gravid. Once in the bucket, I looked at the snake and believed it was just a larger male. The rattle appeared to have been broken off about halfway down. The snake had a mellow demeanor. I inspected the rest of the backyard and noted several areas of concern: overgrown bushes off the back patio, several large vines that had grown over three walls, and a shed with several pieces of pottery stacked up against it. I pointed all of these out to the customer. Given the apparent age of the snake, I informed the customers it may have been in the yard for some time and encouraged landscaping for all the plants I identified. The only opening where a snake could get through that I observed was the gate on the eastern side yard. Otherwise, the gate seems difficult for snakes to get through. Drainage holes in the bricks were covered by 1/4” mesh. I offered the customer a free quote for fencing, and they agreed. There is a desert wash just one house over to the northeast. |

Cave Creek | 85331 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | One of the snakes went deep in the pipe and she couldn’t get it out. The homeowner called me today because he saw a snake by the area she got the one yesterday. While watching it another western diamondback slithered next to the other in the shady corner up against the house. The snakes were trying to get back in the pipe but it had been filled in and they didn’t know it. The homeowner called was on a large lot on a desert hillside with a large wash running right by the property. There was more desert than homes out this way. |

Cave Creek | 85331 | Sonoran Gophersnake | The homeowner saw the snake in her garden a few days ago and thought it would leave, but she saw it coiled up against the garden bed today, so she gave us a call. The snake was photographed in the garden 30 minutes before I arrived. When I got there, the snake was not where she had last seen it. I did a complete search of the garden and the rest of the yard and didn’t find the snake. I did find a young gophersnake in the garden that she allowed to stay. The home has small pockets of desert around it and state land about a quarter mile away. |

Cave Creek | 85331 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | A man called about a rattlesnake on his back patio. When I arrived, the snake had moved a short distance to shelter under an outdoor couch. Once I had it in the bucket, I walked around his yard to look for other snakes and possible points of entry. The property is in the middle of a large development but has a natural drainage running right behind the house. The homeowner has some 1/4‑inch fence installed, but I found a few areas where it was compromised and a snake could have easily entered. He said he would like to be contacted for fencing. No other snakes were found. |

Cave Creek | 85331 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | Western Diamondback found on porch in Cave Creek. The property has had snakes before and has view fencing/chain-link fencing around the perimeter. I left them our RS card and contact information if they would like fencing services or additional relocation calls in the future. They have done dog training with Rattlesnake Ranch AZ and were happy with his services.
