Tucson 85718 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake This family had heard the dog barking and then noticed a rattlesnake on the back porch. When I arrived, I found an adult, apparent male Western Diamondback Rattlesnake coiled and rattling. Directly above the snake on a porch pillar was a screech owl watching the snake. Apparently, this owl is a fixture there as there is a hollow in the support post that they sleep in during the day.
