Queen Creek | 85142 | Sonoran Gophersnake | Arrived at customer’s home and was greeted by customer and neighbors crowded in a driveway that was not the initial address of the call. Customer stated that the snake had been slowly crawling around the neighborhood for over an hour. Customer stated he wasn’t sure what the snake was but that it was “at least 4ft long and skinny like he hasn’t eaten in a while.” Customer also said snake defecated while going through the side yard. Customer led me through side gate and I asked if I could lead and customer obliged. Went through side yard to the east of the home and did notice snake feces on the landscaping halfway down the side yard. I followed the fence line around and as I did a visual sweep I noticed a large gophersnake crawling on the opposite side of the pool along the wall. Approached snake and used hands to capture it. Snake was mellow and maybe a little lethargic but did not seem skinny like the customer stated. Bucketed the snake with no issue and performed quick inspection of the property. No other snakes found. The neighborhood was a year old and surrounded by old farmland but there wasn’t really desert habitat nearby so offering snake fencing did not seem appropriate. |
