Cave Creek 85331 Sonoran Gophersnake The customer had already been visited twice by Marissa for a reported “rattlesnake.” Today, the homeowner saw another snake on his back patio, and I ran over since I was only a mile away. The “rattlesnake” turned out to be a feisty, bright orange gopher snake that likely entered the property through the back view fence, where I found three pack rat nests. I gave the snake a quick trip out to the desert and released it into a new pack rat nest.

Scottsdale 85255 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowner called about a large rattlesnake curled up just outside her back door. The backyard did not offer much suitable habitat, and the snake likely entered through a gap beneath the side gate and was unable to find its way back out. I released the Western Diamondback into a small cave in the wall of a tall wash in the nearby desert, away from homes, where it will be able to reorient itself, stay cool, and find plenty of cover.

Scottsdale 85258 Sonoran Gophersnake Customer called and stated he saw a small snake behind a large package by the front door. The snake is staying put for now; however, the homeowner would rather wait inside. Upon arrival, I found a small gophersnake moving along the front walkway. I was able to remove it and check both yards and the garage to ease the customer’s mind. The snake likely came from the neighboring open desert via a nearby wash. The customer has some standing water and a pool, but otherwise a clean yard.

Phoenix 85085 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake This homeowner has already had us out once this year, as their property is open to the desert and has everything a snake would like. There are dense, low bushes, plenty of food sources, and the homeowner even leaves water dishes throughout the property for wildlife. It’s no surprise this is the fourth one this year. This guy had found a comfortable spot on the patio, where I was able to grab him and relocate him southeast of the property, back into his home range.

Paradise Valley 85253 Sonoran Gophersnake Homeowner called about an unknown snake in her garage. Upon arrival I was able to locate the snake very quickly thanks to her having minimal clutter in her garage. The home did not have much useful habitat in either the front or back yard so the snake was likely waiting out the heat of the day in the garage. Snake was taken to a nearby golf course and released into deep cover in a wash that runs through the middle of the course.

Marana 85658 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowner reported taking their dog to an emergency veterinarian for a snakebite this morning. The yard had recently been fitted with snake fencing by Mr. Packrat. Inspection of the northwest wall revealed a previously missed gap between the house and the perimeter wall. Several homes are under construction around the property, with one in particular located close to this gap. A survey of the property revealed two large Texas ranger bushes. An adult female Western Diamondback Rattlesnake (WDB) was found coiled in ambush beneath one of them. No additional snakes were found, but several small ingress points were noted near the gate on the south side of the property. I recommended that the fencing contractor return to repair any gaps or provide an estimate for the necessary work.

Phoenix 85020 Southwestern Speckled Rattlesnake Received a call from security guard at the Hilton stating they had a rattlesnake captured and the needed it taken away. Arrived at property and met security guards opposite the pool entrance. Security guards had snake in a canvas bag and stated they used tongs to capture it. The bag was sort of rigged like a pool net so guard held out the bag with a handle and I confirmed snake was a pyrrhus. I used tongs to transfer snake from bag into my bucket. Snake was very docile and inquisitive. Snake held its head upright and stared at myself and security guards. Snakes movements seemed sluggish but I saw no visible signs of injury. I asked security guards how/where they found it and they replied “over by the falls. Someone just saw it so I came and grabbed it”. When asked to elaborate the area where snake was first discovered guard just pointed to the NE. That area of the resort is the closest that faces open habitat.

This western diamondback was seen by the homeowner while out in the yard picking up after their dog. The snake was curled up next to a bike tire. There were small gaps by the gate and the back of the yard also had a few openings but I believe it came in through the gap between the house and the wall.
