8:00 AM
Apache Junction 85119 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowner was outside and nearly stepped on the snake in her backyard. It was next to some water dishes she had set out for wildlife. The snake had a large bolus in it. It slithered under the nearby wooden deck on the back patio, which was made of wood slats. We were able to unscrew a slat and pull the snake up through the opening. The home was a manufactured home, and the residents said they had seen this snake last week, but it had gone under the home, so they were waiting to see it again. The home is on a large lot surrounded by natural desert.

The customer reported having seen this or other rattlesnakes in the area multiple times before, but I was not able to locate any additional snakes during a subsequent inspection. I advised the customer on rodent control methods and other strategies to help reduce rattlesnake encounters.

7:30 PM
Apache Junction 85119 Sonoran Gophersnake Sonoran gopher snake found in chicken coop who had recently eaten a meal. Homeowners state this is the 4th snake this year, including a coachwhip and a rattlesnake. They had thought this was another rattlesnake and husband considered keeping it until it moved on but wife definitely wanted it removed. Not interested in fencing their coop. Educated on calling the hotline when the next snake comes to get a free identification so they can decide if they want it removed or not next time.

8:30 AM
Apache Junction 85120 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake This was at a facility for people. They saw the snake slither across the courtyard patio. It then went into a wall gap between the home and fence. After that they lost sight of it. There was a hole going under the cement so I put some water in there from a hose and the snake came right out. This facility was surrounded by desert with what looked like a well watered yard at least in the front.

Apache Junction 85120 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake Homeowner called with rattlesnake in dog run on side of house. Snake most likely came right in the front drainage hole and curled up after getting scared by the dog. I was able to remove the snake from its hiding under some concrete blocks and relocate it to a very heavily vegetated wash next to a large water source.

10:00 AM
Apache Junction 85119 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowner was picking weeds in her front yard when she picked one and noticed a rattlesnake coiled underneath it. The home had desert all around it and was at the base of the Superstition Mountains. She said she lived there thirty years and this was her second snake. She had such a big yard she probably didn’t see most snakes passing by.

10:00 AM
Apache Junction 85120 Mojave Rattlesnake The homeowner spotted the neonate rattlesnake last night out front of his house. He was looking around this morning and he saw it coiled up against his neighbors home. The community is fairly new and has a lot of open desert around it. He has some vegetation out front but all very small. It seemed more like the snake was passing through.

Apache Junction 85119 Mojave Rattlesnake The homeowner called about a small rattlesnake in her backyard. When I arrived, the baby Mojave rattlesnake was curled up along her back wall in the shade of a bush. Home is a little bit deep into the neighborhood, but still somewhat close to a wash so that’s likely where the snake came from. Relocated snake to the nearby desert and placed it under a creosote bush into a rodent hole. Apache Junction.

9:30 AM
Apache Junction 85120 Sonoran Gophersnake The homeowner called about a snake that slithered into a cactus in her backyard. She thought it was a rattlesnake because it did rattle. When we got there, we discovered it was a harmless gopher snake. She was cool enough and let us relocate the snake in her yard. She lived on 2.5 acres and had some natural desert all around her house. There were a few pack rat nests on the property and she had chickens but she didn’t have a fenced yard it was all open.

Apache Junction 85119 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake They initially saw the rattlesnake by their back door last night. This morning, when their cat was outside, it found the rattlesnake under some trash cans by the back door. It was a baby rattlesnake, and it had a meal in its belly. Next to the trash cans was some birdseed on the ground. It likely set up there to snag an easy meal. Their backyard was open to the desert. I did not notice any fencing, but they might’ve had some fence like structure. Their yard was pretty big.
