1:00 PM		 Cave Creek 85262 Coachwhip Wonderful couple who lives part time in Scottsdale called because they had a coachwhip and a rattlesnake in their garage. The rattlesnake they usually coexist with but they are having company next week and wanted it removed for this reason. The coachwhip was found in the garage. The rattlesnake was unable to be found after checking the garage, side yard, and backyard unfortunately. They were given education about possibly getting their garage scorpion proofed so they do not find snakes within the garage area anymore but they are okay with them in their backyard as they have no kids or dogs.

2:30 PM		 Cave Creek 85331 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake Homeowners were spending the weekend cleaning out their garage. They had left it open and found 3 birds inside that they were trying to get out by various means including a leafblower. When they were evicting these unwanted guests, they noticed another! A rattlesnake was perched unusually high (above my head level) where they hang their tools above a workbench. He may have been going after the birds as well. He was carefully taken down and relocated into a natural desert area.

1:00 PM		 Cave Creek 85331 Sonoran Gophersnake The homeowner said they saw a rattlesnake slither across their back patio into a lantana bush. I searched the lantana and saw a Gophersnake inside. It was very dense, so I wasn’t able to grab it right away, and then it disappeared into the bush. There were a few holes under the bush and around the bush, so I started watering those out, but it never did come out. They were OK with leaving it since it wasn’t a rattlesnake. I searched the rest of the yard and did not find any rattlesnakes. They have a block fence with two gates and a gated courtyard. They are surrounded by good desert habitat next to their home.

10:30 AM		 Cave Creek 85331 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake Rattlesnake in the backyard under a rocking chair. The snake moved while on route, but the homeowner watched it carefully and was able to point at a bush alongside the property between two homes where the snake was resting. Easy capture. Searched the rest of the property found no other animals and advised on some minor modifications to prevent access.

The snake was curled up underneath the small shelf near the wheels. The yard had access points underneath the gate and through a drain block on the opposite side. The snake had already been secured with a bucket that had been placed over him. He was relocated near a wash into a packrat nest.

The house was situated on a 5-acre lot with open access on all sides. Relocated into a rock pile next to a wash.

11:30 AM		 Cave Creek 85262 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowner heard some tapping on his back patio door, and he looked to see a rattlesnake looking in at him. He then followed the snake around his side yard into his front yard where his neighbor put it in a bucket without a lid. They had the snake in full sun, so the snake escaped from the bucket and went to the nearby bush, which is where I caught it. He had some heavy vegetation in his yard, and he backed up to desert and a golf course with more desert surrounding the community.

4:00 PM		 Cave Creek 85331 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake A staff member for the Phoenix Desert Broom Library called with a report of a rattlesnake in the courtyard/patio of the library. The staff member was able to keep an eye on the snake until I arrived. The snake had just exited the area to the outside of the fence when I arrived. It was removed without incident. Confirmed Western Diamondback. During the course of my inspection, I located 2 additional WDB’s in the process of mating. These two were found under a low bush sitting atop a rodent mound. No additional snakes were recovered.

4:30 PM		 Cave Creek 85331 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowner was doing some work around the yard when she stumbled on this mating pair of diamondbacks. The property had a view fence at the back that went all the way to the ground which backed up to a wash. When I arrived the snakes were coiled together but weren’t locked up. They were released together into a packrat nest that sat up against a wash.

When we got there, the snake was under a bush near a drainage. She is a fence customer of ours so her yard is well protected and both front and back yards were very clean. There is a desert in and around her home but very fragmented.

6:30 AM		 Cave Creek 85331 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake Early this morning, the homeowner walked out the front door and noticed the baby rattlesnake coiled under an elevated pot. The front yard was very well maintained, and the backyard had our fencing. There was desert in and around the home throughout the community and more desert down the road on the outside of the community.

11:00 AM		 Cave Creek 85331 Sonoran Gophersnake The homeowner called about a rattlesnake that she saw in her side yard hiding behind her trash cans. It turned out to be a Sonoran Gophersnake, which she wanted removed regardless. This home in Cave Creek was near a golf course and had a view fence overlooking a narrow drainage, and had chicken wire about 24inches high, installed along the base. She explained that it was never meant to keep snakes out, but to keep her 3 young beagles in. The backyard was well-manicured with landscaping and a pool. The front had two very tall, dense lantanas. I captured the snake and looked for others but did not find any. The homeowner is very interested in a fencing quote as well as getting a dog training refresher.

2:30 PM		 Cave Creek 85331 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowner was working from her office when she spotted this adult western diamondback hanging out in her office. She said she had seen a snake in her garage within the past day and assumed this is the same one. I offered to check out the garage and laundry room but she declined. Typically, these indoor rattlesnakes turn out to be night snakes or gophers so seeing this adult western diamondback was a surprise. Relocated south of the property into a packrat nest surrounded by bushes and a tree.

9:30 AM		 Cave Creek 85331 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake This public library, which is surrounded by desert gets rattlesnakes often. We just got three away from the building a day ago. Today they had a young rattlesnake coiled on their back patio.

10:30 PM		 Cave Creek 85331 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake Received a call about a rattlesnake on the front porch of the customer’s neighbor’s home. The customer indicated the person living in the home was elderly and out of town. The customer also indicated they would like to pay for removal even though it was not their property. Arrived at the home, and the customer’s son was watching the snake with a flashlight. I observed an adult atrox in ambush beneath the eave of the front facade (eastward-facing) and tucked behind an aloe. Used a hook to move aloe leaves out of the way and tongs to capture the snake. Once I had the snake captured with tongs I used two hands in the tongs to safely bucket it. I then performed a quick inspection of the front yard and also the front yard of the caller. I noted a juvenile Sonoran gophersnake under the eave of their home and provided education on it. The customer opted to leave it. No other snakes were noted on either property.

11:30 AM		 Cave Creek 85331 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The caller reported a rattlesnake under the cars in the garage. I arrived and the snake had moved in between some boxes in the garage. I was able to remove it without incident. A courtesy inspection of the yard was completed. During the inspection, I noted a very deep rodent burrow just outside the garage side entry door. A nearby hose was used to attempt to draw anything that may be in there, however, nothing emerged. A fairly recent shedding was found in a lantana bush just under the hose bib in the rear yard. It appears to belong to a juvenile WDB. It is possible this snake was overwintering in the rodent burrow. As such, I collapsed the burrow to the best of my ability.

10:30 AM		 Cave Creek 85331 Sonoran Gophersnake The homeowners saw what they thought was a rattlesnake slither behind a stack of firewood in their backyard. It ended up being a Sonoran Gophersnake but they still asked that I relocate it. This home was in a Cave Creek neighborhood near a golf course. It had a lot of landscaping, a pool, and a large firewood pile. There was not a lot of easy access in or out of the yard other than from the gap under the large double-doored gate. The homeowners were interested in having the fence team give an estimate to seal this gap as they have had a rattlesnake in the pool filter in the past.

4:00 PM		 Cave Creek 85331 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowner was moving some things around in the garage when he was startled by a rattlesnake rattling at him from about four feet up on a utility shelf. His wife was also in the garage and said that she had been unknowingly walking past the snake for almost an hour. This Cave Creek home was surrounded by a lot of other homes and was not close to any native desert. However, like many of the other neighborhoods in this area, it has many narrow drainages running throughout. making for a somewhat save path to travel. The garage was full. It had a lot of shelving, and a lot of containers and boxes stacked high and deep. Although it's been warm for a few weeks now there is a chance that this snake was still not far from where it spent the winter, and this garage would have been perfect for it. The homeowner did say that the garage door was open for about an hour yesterday, so if the snake did come from outside, it may have been through the open door. Once the snake was in the bucket, I searched the rest of the garage as best as I could, but I did not find any other snakes. I recommended that they use caution when moving the remaining boxes.

8:30 PM		 Cave Creek 85331 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The callers were renting an Airbnb in the Cave Creek area very nearby the main preserve. They reported to have come out the sliding glass door to the back pool area to view the stars, and within 30 minutes of walking back, the young rattlesnake was curled up in front of the door they had just come out of. When I arrived the snake was still in the same position and easily captured, as I inspected the area about 10 feet from the sliding glass door was a large landscaping rock with holes going under it by which I saw a snake shed outside of it, and explained my suspicion that's where the snake likely came from. While further inspecting the back yard there were several rodent boxes laid out and lots of rodent droppings in various locations along with many large landscaping rocks. The home is centered in optimal desert habitat along side a preserve with several new homes under construction in the area.

9:00 AM		 Cave Creek 85331 Sonoran Gophersnake 2 snakes were called in. The snakes did separate, so the homeowner could not watch both, but knew their general areas. I found the adult in some lantana in their side yard. There was apparently a baby with it that went into the desert area next to their home but I could not find it. Spent time educating on coexisting in the future and that we are available 24/7 to identify a snake for them via the hotline and texting a photo. They never plan to fence their property.

11:00 AM		 Cave Creek 85331 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake Caller reported a rattlesnake crawling along the outside of their fence. They managed to spray the snake with a hose to get it to fall into the desert but it continued toward the front of the house, prompting them to call us. The snake remained there until I arrived and was removed without incident. A courtesy inspection was completed and no additional snakes were found. The snake was likely attracted by the water fish

They were able to keep track of one, however, the 2nd snake was unable to be located. I found the pipe where the snakes were overwintering and sharing the space with rodents. I used water to attempt to draw anything out but only a packrat made its way out.

11:30 AM		 Cave Creek 85262 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake Snake was found in backyard under some bushes and they have 2 large dogs. They were able to watch the snake for me and it stayed in one place rattling at them the whole time. Homeowners were relieved the snake would be ethically relocated as they didn't want any harm to come to it. Home with some view fencing but they are happy to live with the desert wildlife and do not want any changes/rattlesnake fencing. They usually coexist if they find nonvenonous snakes in the backyard or rattlesnakes out front.

They have their own fencing that came with the house and they pile up bricks to block entry areas in the block wall. They are happy with their setup and do not wish to pursue professional rattlesnake fencing despite education.

12:30 PM		 Cave Creek 85331 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake Caller reported a large snake of some kind in the backyard amongst the many potted plants she was watering. Upon arrival, I was able to locate the small juvenile WDB between 2 potted succulent plants. The snake was removed without incident. No other snakes were recovered during inspection.

5:00 PM		 Cave Creek 85331 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The client called with a report of a rattlesnake on the back patio. They were able to keep an eye on it until I arrived. The snake had traveled to the far side of the home by the time I arrived. I was able to remove it without incident. The homeowners have a very low view fence. I advised them to install snake fencing. They are “on the fence” about fencing. I told them I would have the fencing team reach out so they at least have the option going forward.

2:00 PM		 Cave Creek 85331 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowner saw the snake earlier this morning around ten coiled in her back yard. She had to go to work so she just left it. When she got home around 2pm she saw the snake slithering in her grass in the back yard. When I arrived it was coiled up right by the gate in the back yard. The home didn’t have much cover in the yard. There was a big drainage behind the home that led straight to open desert. They had a block fence and one gate.

11:30 AM		 Cave Creek 85331 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowner spotted the baby rattlesnake coiled next to a pot on their back patio. There was some visible water on the ground next to it and a bird feeder right in front of it. He put the snake in a bucket and I got it from there. The home has a large yard but most of the plants are in pots on the patio. They have a block fence with a lot of drainage holes and three gates. The home has some desert next to it but even more just down the road.

When I arrived it had curled up under a cactus in the rocks. This is a very busy cafe with an outdoor patio with lots of people and pets around.

4:00 PM		 Cave Creek 85331 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake Staff from the storage facility called with a report of a rattlesnake in the road just outside the front office. The snake had moved beyond the curb towards the wash by the time I arrived. The snake was removed without incident. During a courtesy inspection, I observed a coachwhip, though I left it unperturbed. No additional snakes were recovered.

12:30 AM		 Cave Creek 85331 Nightsnake Received a call from customer stating he had a baby rattlesnake on his front porch. Arrived at property and was shown where the snake was. Customer pointed out a debris pile on patio and said it went into there. Utilized tongs to search under the pile and noted a decent sized nightsnake to come out. Captured snake with hands and provided customer education on the species. Customer was okay with releasing it back into property. Inspected the area a bit more but no other snakes found.

4:30 PM		 Cave Creek 85331 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowners called to request the relocation of a rattlesnake from the backyard. When I arrived, there were several very excited children to manage while the dad kept watch over the snake, which had moved between the house and the shed next to it. I removed the rattlesnake from the snug area and got it contained in the bucket for relocation. The home was in a well-developed gated community that had several vegetated desert washes running through it that connect to ideal desert habitat in the Cave Creek area.

3:30 PM		 Cave Creek 85331 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake, Sonoran Gophersnake Caller reported a rattlesnake in the rear yard behind a storage box. I was able to see the snake from above when I arrived. While pulling out the storage box an additional visitor was found, a Gophersnake. A courtesy inspection was done and no additional snakes were recovered. The snake entered under the RV gate as the rest of the yard is protected with fencing.

10:00 PM		 Cave Creek 85331 Sonoran Gophersnake The homeowner saw a snake retreat behind some boxes in her garage and immediately shut the garage and called us. When I arrived I had her open the garage and the gopher snake was sitting in the corner. I was able to grab the snake and released it into a wash within its home range.

1:30 PM		 Cave Creek 85262 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake Large rattlesnake caught in netting around the garden. I was able to cut it out and evaluate for injuries. It looked to be recoverable, so I released it to suitable habitat.

4:30 PM		 Cave Creek 85331 Kingsnake Customer watched a kingsnake enter her garage as she opened it. There was standing water on the large leaves of overgrown agave right next to the garage door as well as rodent activity, which is likely what attracted the snake to this area. I advised the client to trim the agave and eliminate the rodent problem to reduce risk of additional reptile visitors. No other snakes were recovered.

9:30 PM		 Cave Creek 85331 Sonoran Gophersnake I was dispatched a call for a snake under trash can. Customer sent picture of snake’s head peaking out from underneath the trash can and I confirmed it was a gophersnake. Snakes neck/throat appeared extremely pinched underneath the can and I assumed it was dead but customer still wanted us to grab it. Met customer’s in the side yard where they pointed out the snake. Snakes head appeared the same as in pictures. Once I tilted the dumpster up the snake bolted and I was able to capture it with my left hand. Snake struck my left hand but no injury. I bucketed snake and performed inspection of the rest of the yard. There were two areas in the yard when quail chicks had recently hatched and I suspect the reason why the snake was in the yard. No other snakes found.

12:30 PM		 Cave Creek 85331 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake Client called with a report of a juvenile Western Diamondback in the back corner of the rear yard near the entry gate. The snake had moved under a pile of pavers with a convenient rodent tunnel system underneath. I was able to draw the snake out with water, after having removed some of the pavers from the pile. No other snakes were recovered.

8:30 PM		 Cave Creek 85331 Sonoran Gophersnake Adult Gopher snake that had made his way into a garage during the day when the customers had the garage open. He found himself a hiding spot behind some doors that were leaning against the garage wall.

12:00 PM		 Cave Creek 85331 Nightsnake The homeowner saw the snake stuck to the trap inside the garage several hours before she called. She put the snake outside the garage but it was in the shade. I was able to get the snake off the trap but it was very weak and its mouth needed to be readjusted. The homeowner said she didn’t know she had those traps. She lives next to a desert drainage and a few parks.

3:00 PM		 Cave Creek 85331 Coachwhip The homeowner saw the coachwhip in his backyard several days ago. He called in, and I advised they move on pretty fast to just wait it out and it will eventually leave. Today he saw the snake again. It was in a tree and it dropped a bird and then it eventually ate the bird. And then it went under a bush. He wanted me to come get it this time just because it has been a few days and he still sees it. It was a big beautiful coachwhip, and it did have a bird in its belly. The homeowner had a lot of heavy vegetation and a well-watered yard. They also had a desert drainage behind them leading to more desert and a golf course not far from that.

2:00 PM		 Cave Creek 85331 Sonoran Gophersnake The caller reported a snake moving through the rear yard. I arrived and the snake was under a bush and only slowly moving both due to being observed and having recently ingested a meal. This client has rattlesnake fencing and is no stranger to Rattlesnake Solutions. He was interested in how the snake may have entered the yard. I advised the client that these Gophersnakes are adept climbers and pointed out the most likely areas in which it could have made entry. I made recommendations to trim the branches protruding through the fencing along the back view fence. I also provided a theory that the snake could have climbed the bougainvillea that hugs the perimeter wall on the side of the house. No other snakes were recovered.

12:30 PM		 Cave Creek 85331 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The caller reported a large rattlesnake in the rear yard. When I arrived I immediately observed a Western Diamondback rattlesnake, entirely missing its rattle, moving along some decorative cinder blocks. I was able to quickly remove the snake without incident. No other snakes were recovered during my inspection. The homeowner was strongly advised to remove the overgrown non-native grasses in the rear yard as well as any low lying bushes.

5:30 PM		 Cave Creek 85331 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake Arrived at the property and was escorted to the backyard by the homeowner. Met husband in the backyard and he pointed out where the snake was. I observed an adult atrox in ambush atop landscaping gravel next to a plastic storage container. Used tongs to capture the snake with no issue. Snake had a mellow disposition throughout the whole encounter. The customer stated the landscaper was removing some matted oregano bushes from a terrace above the pit opposite the pool. The landscaper said he lost the snake, and the customer suspects this is the snake. The customer stated it’s the second rattlesnake he’s seen in 10 years. Inspected the rest of the property including the rest of the oregano patch and no snakes were found. Customer had a view fence atop a pony wall that I’m not certain a wdb the size of the one in the bucket could have climbed and I suspect the snake may have entered through one of the gates in either side yard. I don’t suspect the snake was in the yard for a very long time as I saw no signs of denning. Offered the customer a free fence quote and he accepted.
