9:30 AM		 Sun City 85351 Mojave Rattlesnake The homeowner went to take out his trash last night and spotted the snake under his trash can. This is an underground trash can, so he was just under the lid. This morning he still spotted the snake under the lid so he gave us a call. It started to heat up in that time the snake must have tried to get into some deeper cover and it fell into the trash can, so it could not get out at that point. I was able to grab it and save a gecko that fell in as well. The home was right by a drainage that leads to the open river bottom.

11:00 AM		 Waddle 85355 Mojave Rattlesnake A real estate company called from a new development and reported a small/baby Rattlesnake in the front entrance of the model home. The very kind agent felt comfortable enough to place a wire trash can over the small snake and place a rock over top before we could get out to them, she even took lengths to pour water on the sides for the snake during its wait for relocation. Once I had arrived I was directed to the shaded entrance where the snake was contained, and lifted the trash can to gently transfer the rattlesnake into the bucket for transport. I walked around the rest of the model home and inspected for further snakes with no others found. The community is full of new construction within an ideal desert habitat running along the White Tanks Preserve area.

6:00 PM		 Phoenix 85085 Mojave Rattlesnake #1613 gate code. Snake was found near side gate outside of backyard. There was a neighborhood party going on watching the snake and I was able to pass out flyers. House next to natural desert wash. Snake taken out of the community and relocated into desert preserve.

10:00 AM		 Phoenix 85054 Mojave Rattlesnake Very nice homeowners who did not know who we were but their neighbor made the call for them when they found a snake in the front yard. They had the rattlesnake already contained in a plastic box with a lid when I arrived. They were interested in our services and hearing about our company. A crowd had gathered so I passed around business cards. Tim (homeowner) is living in this home temporarily for the next year while he builds his home up north. He is interested in snake fencing but not yet because the new home is not complete but will reach out in 1 year and possibly reach out for dog training as well per his wife at a later time.

4:00 PM		 Avondale 85339 Mojave Rattlesnake The homeowner went to grab the trash cans in the back yard when she moved one she heard a rattle and saw the baby snake coiled underneath. This community is not very old and has reservation land surrounding it. The yard was cleared out with no vegetation so the trash cans were the only shade source.

9:00 AM		 Sun City 85251 Mojave Rattlesnake The homeowners pest person spotted the snake coiled by the back door and informed the homeowner. The snake was coiled right next to a lantana in a pot that had a quail and her eggs in it. I’m not sure if the snake was aware of mom or not. The home didn’t have much cover in the yard but was really close to the dry river bottom.

3:30 PM		 Surprise 85387 Mojave Rattlesnake The caller reported a rattlesnake hiding in a crack on the side of the house in the rear yard. When I arrived the snake was in the same spot, trying to remain discreet. The hole actually led to the underside of the built-in outdoor grill. I was able to snatch him from under the grill. No other snakes were recovered. Rattlesnake fencing was recommended, but declined by the homeowner.

10:30 PM		 Surprise 85387 Mojave Rattlesnake Received call about a rattlesnake in a backyard. Arrived at home and greeted customer in the side yard. Customer showed me a video of the snake. Video was from a distance and grainy and I initially ID’d snake as an atrox. Customer stated the last he saw snake it was in a defensive posture crawling away from home towards block wall north of the patio. Customer stated he kept an eye around areas of the yard the snake could exit until I arrived but didn't not see any movement. Home was on a corner lot and backyard was large. A large block wall surrounded entire yard with points of entry in either side yard (one gate and another a lattice drainage block). I noticed two expansion gaps in the wall that were approximately a half - 3/4 inch wide. Two thirds of the wall was lined with dense and overgrown vegetation with accumulated leaf litter underneath. Spent the majority of my time inspecting underneath the vegetation, using my hook to rake through the leaf litter. After my third pass I asked customer if I could use their water hose to try to see if I could get anything moving. Customer agreed and I spent approximately three minutes spraying the first area until I noticed a snake moving behind some of the vegetation. I approached snake and utilized tongs to capture and bucket with no issue. Once I saw the snake I realized it was in fact a sub adult Mojave. There were no points of entry in the neighborhood that would have been easy access to this home for the snake. IE the snake would have had to travel 10 houses down and then 10 houses up to reach the front of this house. The snake was small enough that I do think it likely entered through the back wall through the expansion gaps.

7:00 PM		 Scottsdale 85266 Mojave Rattlesnake After receiving a call, the customer had stated she had originally spotted and confirmed a rattlesnake in her backyard when she went to let her dog out. However, she was comfortable enough to watch it until my arrival, and upon my arrival, it had moved under her gate into her front yard, where I was then able to capture it near some dead foliage. After the capture, I then made sure to inspect the rest of her property, but found nothing else. The customer had also stated this was not their first rattlesnake call and had used our company in the past as well. Her property was very close to a desert preserve, with multiple entry points into her backyard for the rattlesnake, and a huge shaded area on her side property that she shares with the neighbor, full of shrubs and foliage for shade, which is most likely the reason for its presence on the property. Upon capture of this young Mojave, I then returned it back to the desert preserve and hiked it away from all the residential areas to live out the rest of its life.

11:00 PM		 Phoenix 85085 Mojave Rattlesnake Received a call regarding a rattlesnake on a front patio. The customer stated the neighbor attempted to contain the snake in a bucket, but it may or may not have been in the bucket. Arrived home and went into the south-facing entryway, where there was a covered patio. I noticed a snake in ambush on an east facing was somewhat behind a 5-gallon bucket that was on its side. Upon closer inspection, I noticed it was a scutulatus in ambush which surprised me as the home was east of North Valley Parkway and the nearest habitat was almost exclusively mountain terrain. Captured snake using tongs and bucketed it with no issue. Customers stated they noticed the snake initially in the general location where it was near the front door. The area would have plenty of shade most of the day and early morning. Performed inspection of the front and backyard with no other snakes found. There was washes running north and east of home. The backyard has a brick wall all around. The side yard in the east has a lattice brick for drainage and side yard on the west has a gate. The family has three medium-sized dogs which are often out back. Offered a free fencing quote and they accepted.

The main question and justification for paying the fee was that I checked to see if there was a mom and babies nearby. I inspected the backyard and the garage and found it to be just a lone wandering baby.

8:00 PM		 San Tan 85143 Mojave Rattlesnake Homeowner in SanTan called about a Mojave Rattlesnake in his front yard. When I arrived the snake was stretched out in the rocks near his entryway. Not much desert around but small patches here and there. This snake’s days were likely numbered as it was pretty deep into the neighborhood so good to get it back out into proper habitat. Not much usable habitat around the area the snake was found; the yard was well-kept and landscaped.

Upon further inspection around the area, the snake was located within the driveway of a neighbor’s house. The surrounding area within about half a mile of where the snake was found was flat desert plains with some foliage coverage.

11:00 AM		 Phoenix 85032 Mediterranean house gecko Call came in as a glue trap snake. The picture mysteriously looked like a gecko head, but I could also see a tail with no rattle, so I took the call. When I arrived, there were three Mediterranean house geckos piled on top of one another. This was a new, young homeowner who had just bought the house and felt very bad about the geckos and what he thought was a snake. He is going to research alternative means of pest control so this doesn’t happen again, by his own determination of the situation, which was a win. The geckos were safely taken out of the glue trap with oil and released.

10:30 PM		 Peoria 85382 Longnosed Snake, Longnosed Snake Baby longnose. Snake was found in the house dining room. Identified as nonvenomous over the phone with photo. Snake suffered mortal wound, nearly completely severed about 1/3 from head. It was a very small snake. Homeowners accidentally crushed it trying to contain it when it started to move. They were very sad and apologetic. The person who injured it (husband) was not the person I was speaking to (wife) and I think that contributed to the accident. I am letting the snake pass in a comfortable space. :( I searched laundry room and garage for them as well and saw no other evidence of snakes or rodents. Made fencing removal and showed them how we relocated the snakes. Snake is gorgeous, tiny, and so cute - very sad :(
