They said the snake they saw was a lot bigger. There back yard is desert then a golf course and then south mountain. They have a view fence and are interested in fencing. Entered front gate and followed walkway to the front door where I observed a juvenile atrox in defensive posture maybe 3 feet from front door against wall. Used tongs to capture snake with no issue. Performed inspection of rest of the courtyard and backyard and found no other snakes. Both areas largely free of clutter or overgrown landscaping plants. Provided education on snake behavior and offered customer a free fencing quote to which he accepted. I suspect snake entered through front gate and sought refuge as courtyard was north facing. Customer states this is the 2nd rattlesnake they’ve seen on their property. Property sits below foothills of South Mountain. |
