Scottsdale 85259 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowner was outside with her puppy when she heard a rattling sound. The dog backed away from the noise, and they both went inside. The snake was by the back patio, up against the house. I searched everywhere in her front and back yard but couldn’t find the snake. I then checked a sprinkler box near where she had last seen it and found the snake inside. She had some vegetation in the backyard that could be trimmed, but this was a corner house adjacent to a desert mountainside. The yard had a partial view fence and one gate.

Scottsdale 85259 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake A homeowner in Scottsdale called about a western diamondback rattlesnake curled up in the corner of his front porch. The front yard is essentially open desert, with widely scattered homes throughout the neighborhood. He said he had seen the snake for a couple of days in a row; it would leave at night but always return during the day to take advantage of the shaded area where I picked it up. I took the snake across the street and found a nice patch of open desert with a decent-sized wash running through it. The snake was released into a packrat nest underneath a large tree on the side of the wash.

Scottsdale 85259 Kingsnake Called us for a western diamondback rattlesnake and a kingsnake. He had a video of both in the courtyard. The fire department apparently came before we did and caught the rattlesnake, but the guy told them to put it back so I could get it, because the fire department told him they were only going to take it down the street. I searched the area extensively and flooded out the gaps between the paver patio and the wall, and flooded out two kingsnakes, but the rattlesnake was nowhere to be found. It could still be under that patio because the under-cavity is pretty extensive, but since it was harassed by the fire department, it could have left. There was about 20 minutes of him not watching it before I got there.

Scottsdale 85259 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowner noticed the snake coiled by the front door in the shade. The snake was in an inclosed courtyard but the door to the courtyard had gaps. It was very cool in there and they had a fountain. There was a big wash across the street that led to even more desert. He didn’t want the back checked so I’m not sure what was going on back there. This was a gravid female.

Scottsdale 85259 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake Western diamondback near back porch, taking shade under some plants and found by the homeowners’ dog. They were able to see the interaction and call the curious puppy inside as the snake was rattling. Talked extensively about trimming shrubbery, not leaving bowls of water for birds on the ground, rodent control, fencing options, cleaning up trash on the side of the house, and dog training as ways to make the area a less hospitable habitat.

Scottsdale 85259 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake Dispatched to a call where the customer stated there was a rattlesnake near their back porch. Arrived to the home and was escorted into the backyard by the customer. I observed a large atrox in ambush on the east side of the home. Snake was partially covered by a jasmine that was drip irrigated. Utilized tongs to capture snake. Snake struck at tongs several times and then rattled for the duration of my time with it. Performed inspection of both yards and found no other snakes. Yard had a few areas that I pointed out that had overgrown vegetation. Customer had 1/4 mesh installed by landscapers. Offered a free fencing quote and they agreed. Customer stated they spend summers in Show Low and had just returned. Customer stated landscapers found another snake the week before and killed it. I believe snake came from desert across the street and through the side fate on the east side.

Scottsdale 85259 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake Diamondback in backyard courtyard. Front gate currently removed due to construction and snake easily made his way in. Relocated to nearby natural desert. Homeowner moved into this house in January and is doing renovations although she has lived in the neighborhood a very long time. She watches the YouTube channel and is very knowledgeable. Interested in our fencing. She has view fencing overlooking a desert wash. She would like a reference for someone to paint her view fencing before the rattlesnake fencing is put up if possible.

Scottsdale 85259 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake Customer called stating a rattlesnake was seen crawling under an AC pad and then soon after saw it coming back out from the same concrete pad. Upon arrival, several workers were watching the snake and it had crawled several feet away from the ac pad into a bush. I then attempted to capture the snake in a small bush but it went into a hole. I then flooded the hole out and eventually it came back out for capture. This is a fence customer so his backyard is fenced but the home sits between 2 washes and has good habitat overall.

Scottsdale 85259 Longnosed Snake The homeowner called us about a possible Coral Snake at her home in Scottsdale. I arrived to find that the snake had already found a small hole on the side of the home near an air conditioning unit. I flooded the hole with water until a very cold and wet longnosed snake emerged. At the request of the homeowner, the snake was removed. This property is located in the middle of a gated community just north of a large open stretch of native desert. It was heavily landscaped with a water feature. No other snakes were found.

Scottsdale 85259 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowner called about a snake in the backyard looking for cover. I found the snake hiding behind a storage unit on the shaded back porch. 6:00 PM
Scottsdale 85259 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowner called after seeing a rattlesnake on the side of their home near the pool pump. This was a brand new fence client, however, the snake was not inside the fenced area. The side yard was an enclosed area between the house and a 5-foot-tall retaining wall. Access to the back yard from this area was through a newly snake-proofed gate, and a drain hole in the block wall to get to the front yard. This is also where the pool pump and equipment was located. When I first saw the snake, it was unsuccessfully trying to find a way into the backyard through the snake fencing. When it saw me, it retreated under the large, hollow base of the pool filter. It took almost an hour of constant running water to finally flush the snake out. The snake could have entered the area at any time from above the retaining wall, which was at ground level at the top, or through the drain in the block wall. There is also a chance the snake was hiding under the base of the pool filter the entire time. Based on the amount of time and water it took to remove, it would have been nearly impossible to know that a snake was hiding inside without actually witnessing it enter. No other snakes were found.

Scottsdale 85258 Western Diamondback and Coachwhip Karen had workers doing some yard work around her pool when they noticed a snake within her agave plant wedged between her pool and the fence. After taking a closer look, they noticed there were two: a coachwhip and a rattlesnake literally right next to each other. Karen also had snake fencing that was installed by the previous owner. Upon inspection, i noticed many areas where rats dug under that potentially created an entryway for the snakes.
