Cleared garage including inspecting refrigerator and the undercarriage and engine bay of the Range Rover in the garage. No snakes or snake evidence present. Had customer shut garage to inspect holes that could have allowed entry or exit. Found garage mouldings cut too short allowing a one to two finger sized gap even an adult gopher snake could enter or exit through. Advised customer on simple methods to seal these holes to prevent further entry by snakes and other critters Garage code left side 2525

6:30 PM		 Cave Creek 85262 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake Caller stated she found a rattlesnake in her garage. Wheen i arrived the Western Diamondback was entangled in two fishing poles. Removal required carefully cutting fishing line and a hook the pierced the snakes belly skin. The snakes overall behavior and movement appeared to be normal.

4:00 PM		 Cave Creek 85262 Kingsnake Some people working on the yard saw the snake go under a bush in the back yard. They thought it was a kingsnake but wanted me out to see just in case. I got it out from under the bush and the homeowner let the snake stay. The home has a golf course behind it and a lot of desert. The yard is well watered with a lot of vegetation.

12:00 PM		 Cave Creek 85262 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The dog sitter was out back with the dog when she saw the black and white part of the snakes tail poking out from the back patio furniture. She got the dog inside and watched the snake. The snake slithered around the whole back yard while I drove there unbothered she said. It is a very nice day out so no temperature restrictions today. I caught the snake while it was still cruising around. The back yard has some vegetation but it is all trimmed up well. It has a view fence that backs up to a lot of open desert.

The cements under the gate was cracked and that’s how the baby got in. The yard is large and pretty open with little vegetation only cactuses. The home is surrounded by a lot of good desert habitat.

They lost sight of the snake by a large pack rat nest. Thankfully as soon as we walked up the snake slithered out from a bush. The home has a large yard with desert landscaping around it. The yard itself is clean and has little vegetation. They have a view fence and a gated courtyard.

She has a front courtyard that has a climb risk due to a low wall, but wants to discuss options if you have any creative solutions after looking at it. The backyard looks very doable. They have existing mesh, though that is the wrong size and not properly attached and on the wrong side of the fence, all of that good stuff. She’s going to cut back all of the brush on the other side of the fence. The property is not a major snake, heavy yard, but would like to get a quote anyway, and I bet it would go through. They are only here for another few days and leave on Monday, Memorial Day, so if possible to get out there Thursday or Friday I bet we could get it.

The yard had dense vegetation that needed trimming. Behind the view fence was a drainage leading to more desert, and some vegetation was overlapping the fence.

7:30 AM		 Cave Creek 85262 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake Customer reports a baby rattlesnake in her fenced yard. She plans to capture it and place it in a bucket. Customer states there are holes in the fence allowing animals to enter. This issue is not covered under warranty; however, the customer refuses to pay. Due to her prior customer service history, she is choosing to capture the snake herself despite being advised not to. Final payment decision will be made after inspection of the fencing and consultation with management.

11:30 AM		 Cave Creek 85262 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake Received a call about a rattlesnake in the courtyard behind a fountain. Arrived at the property and was shown the fountain fixture, which was backed against the stucco wall that housed a garage on the other side. The customer stated he watched the snake go behind the fountain on one side and kept his eyes on it until I arrived. The customer stated the snake was approximately 2 ft long. I observed a small hole on one side of the fountain and decided to flood the area using the customer’s hose. After about 15 minutes of flooding, with nothing coming out on the side with the house, I began watching the other side, which appeared to be blocked off with rocks. Using my flashlight, I was able to see a small portion of an atrox head attempting to peek out. I used my hook to remove the rocks, and the snake exited almost immediately. I used tongs to capture it. The snake escaped the bucket five times before I was able to secure the lid. The snake definitely came from the preserve that the property backed up to. I pointed out areas of concern in the courtyard and suggested that fencing could help keep rattlesnakes from entering. The customer declined.

His dog was barking, so he looked outside and saw the rattlesnake up against his back fence in the fenced secured area. He got his dog in, and the snake climbed up onto the block ledge and was trying to get over the mesh, but could not. I searched around the yard for any possible ways in and did find that some of the mesh on the view fence was puckered up, and some rocks got wedged in there; it was puckered up and could have possibly been the entry point. This home is really close to the desert preserve, and there are lots of great habitats around.

9:00 PM		 Cave Creek 85262 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowner called about a rattlesnake in his backyard. It was coiled up in between stacks of roofing shingles. I was able to catch it as soon as I arrived. This was a prior fence customer, but it has been out of warranty for several years. The fence still looked like it was in great shape. The homeowner said he was pretty sure that a landscaper left his gate open long enough for the snake to find its way in. At the request of the homeowner, I am submitting a fence ticket for someone to take a look at the fence just in case.

While I was on my way, he texted me informing me that there was actually a second rattlesnake as well. When I arrived, both Western Diamondbacks were stretched out along the perimeter of his patio against a wall. One male and one female, likely a bonded pair. Yard is fenced, but there are a few areas where the snakes could’ve still managed to get in. I took the snakes to a nearby trailhead and released them into some deep cover within some rocks on a north facing slope.

2:30 PM		 Cave Creek 85262 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The home owner called to say he had a rattlesnake stuck in a glue trap in his garage, but it turned out to be a baby gopher snake. He was concerned because they had a rattlesnake in the backyard a week prior that bit the dog. The house is located in an area with lots of open desert. I took the snake home where I used olive oil to remove it from the trap. After observing it to make sure it was doing ok, it was released in the desert with deep cover.

Both the homeowner and the snake were startled, and the snake was found curled up in the garage trying to hide. There was an open patch of land next the house, so I walked down a wash and found some trees to release it.

The snake was on the move, but luckily I was able to find it very quickly when I got there. The home is very large and surrounded by open desert. The homeowner has seen multiple rattlesnakes and even a Gila monster in her yard and the surrounding area. Wildlife is just a part of their lives when living in a home like this. Snake was hiked a little bit away from the home and placed into a large rodent hole at the base of a large pile of rocks. Scottsdale.

5:00 PM		 Cave Creek 85262 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowner saw this baby rattlesnake coiled up to the left of the front door. Given the temperature was in the 60’s the snake was rather lethargic and easy to capture. I held on to the snake overnight as I was not familiar with the area and wanted to hike it to its new home in the daylight. Released into a packrat nest in its estimated home range.

12:30 PM		 Cave Creek 85262 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The snake was first seen a few days ago in the backyard by a big boulder. Today, they observed it again and requested its removal. The back yard isn’t fenced, and it goes into some natural desert and a golf course not far from that. The snake was by some big boulders with a pack rat nest underneath. Thankfully, the snake was out and easy to catch. The community backs up to a desert preserve.

1:00 PM		 Cave Creek 85262 Coachwhip Wonderful couple who lives part time in Scottsdale called because they had a coachwhip and a rattlesnake in their garage. The rattlesnake they usually coexist with but they are having company next week and wanted it removed for this reason. The coachwhip was found in the garage. The rattlesnake was unable to be found after checking the garage, side yard, and backyard unfortunately. They were given education about possibly getting their garage scorpion proofed so they do not find snakes within the garage area anymore but they are okay with them in their backyard as they have no kids or dogs.

11:30 AM		 Cave Creek 85262 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowner heard some tapping on his back patio door, and he looked to see a rattlesnake looking in at him. He then followed the snake around his side yard into his front yard where his neighbor put it in a bucket without a lid. They had the snake in full sun, so the snake escaped from the bucket and went to the nearby bush, which is where I caught it. He had some heavy vegetation in his yard, and he backed up to desert and a golf course with more desert surrounding the community.

They were able to watch the snake for me and it stayed in one place rattling at them the whole time. Homeowners were relieved the snake would be ethically relocated as they didn't want any harm to come to it. Home with some view fencing but they are happy to live with the desert wildlife and do not want any changes/rattlesnake fencing. They usually coexist if they find nonvenonous snakes in the backyard or rattlesnakes out front.

She lost sight of it but I found it coiled under the AC unit. The yard didn’t have much for cover but was right next to a drainage area with some big boulders and lots of desert vegetation.

Beccause they are going to tear down the wall for the pool addition, they do not need snake fencing in that area yet but they do have an enclosed garbage can area with side gate, another enclosed area on the opposite side of the house and a third front entry courtyard area in the meantime. They would like a recommendation for a new, large front gate as well but I told her I do not know if we have a connection like that. Solid walls all around home so fencing would just be flood holes and gates. Wife is from Australia and petrified of rattlesnakes and coyotes. They have a boxer dog and she would not be reassured that this dog was too big for a coyote to mess with.

3:00 PM		 Cave Creek 85262 Kingsnake The homeowner noticed the kingsnake on his back patio. It then slithered into a bougainvillea. When I arrived the snake was not visible. It went into the base of the plant and it was very dense and hard to see in. I used the hose and after a while the snake came out for a second but not enough of its body to grab. It then went back into hiding. I continued to water until it came all the way out but it slithered up the bougainvillea which was really big and I couldn’t reach it. I moved to the other side to see better, and it disappeared. There was another bougainvillea next to it that went to the ground on the other side of the fence. I think it escaped to that one and got to the ground and out into the desert behind the home. The home also backed up to a golf course.
