Lots of vegetation and lives by near by desert. Great place for snakes. The snake was just hanging out in the shade and it was a little wet where it was laying. Appears to be a gravid female.

Snake was warm and likely attracted to the water from the hose, climbed outdoor stairs when disturbed by homeowner. Managed to get all the way up stairs before I got there and into a corner of a planter. No evidence of rodents or any other reason snake would be attracted to the area.

They tried scaring the snake away with a hose but it would not leave. It was coiled under a grill when I got there. The house is on South Mountain with a big drainage that goes straight up the mountain behind the house. Very specky area. That have a view fence not much in there yard for the snake to hide under they just happen to live where speckleds like.

Yard had rodent problems before move in. Requested a call about fencing. Snake could have come through several drainage holes in wall or through gap in gate.

Snake managed to get into backyard from around neighbors house and into one of two side entrances, as block wall surrounding house provided no entrances around back of house where habitat was. Snake likely wandered into back yard after managing to wander into the neighborhood and needed to find shade. Back yard had plenty of shade and cool places like pool equipment for snake to seek shelter. No evidence of rodent activity, so likely a coincidence that snake was there in my opinion. Good candidate for fencing.
