The homeowners son and friend have seen it in this morning and she heard a rattle when she was doing landscape work. I arrived about 40 minutes later and found a steak sleeping in obvious estivation. Captured and relocated without any problems. It was very defensive.

After the initial seeing the snake, it went a short distance under some hot tube steps that are open in the back. I searched the back yard under the steps and found no snake. I saw a small hole going from the back yard to the front so I went to the front yard and looked in some bushes under a large shaded tree. The snake was coiled up in the bushes. He was content didn’t rattle didn’t move at all.

He found the snake this morning in his garage behind some tables but didn't have time to call anyone. When he got back from work he found the snake again in the same place. I found the snake under some boxes in the back of the garage.

When I arrived 30 minutes after call I was directed to front area with a few bushes no snake was found. I searched the front of the grounds including the drainage rock pile area. The customer ended up thinking she only saw one snake and believed it to be more. Whole room was checked to ensure there were no more snakes. It likely entered through a ground level window that was left slightly ajar. Once customer was told it was a harmless insect eater she decided to have me release it on the property in a hole.

There is existing fencing in the back, but there are numerous entry points especially for younger snakes. The job is incomplete as there is access to the back from the front. It is my belief that this customer has a false sense of a secure and safe back yard area.

Searched every bit of yard. Searched under thick vegetation. No snake was found. There were 3 entrances that the snake could have came from and exited. 2 gates and a hole for pool pipes. I advised to continue rodent control, trim bushes and have us do an estimate for snake fencing. End of report.
