No other snakes found on inspection of the garage.

They took the trash out to the trash cans in the back yard and heard a rattle. When I got there, the rattlesnake was halfway in a rodent box. I popped it open and it was stuck to a sticky trap along with another dead adult atrox. I was able to free the snake with some oil and it was unharmed. The home has some dessert around it in the community but not a lot of great dessert anymore it’s really built up.

It then coiled under a bush. The home is right across the street from the agua fria river bottom. They hired their pest company to do snake fencing and it’s not great. They have two gates and a block fence.

Homeowner was interested in fencing however their yard is built into the side of a hill and fencing may be a large task consisting of fencing off the majority of the backyard as well as a couple gates and drainage holes.

It’s a very long grill island, so he was in there when he heard a rattle and saw the snake coiled at the end. He scooted out, and I was able to crawl in there and grab it. Across the street from the home, a lot of desert has been destroyed for new builds.

The snake was tucked away under the shelves. The garage door had gaps when shut. This location is odd, but I do get snakes in this area from time to time. A large canal separates a densely packed neighborhood from the wide-open desert. The canal is large, so the snake had to have swam across it.

12:00 AM		 Peoria 85383 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake I received a call about a rattlesnake in the customer’s front courtyard. The customer sent a picture, and I confirmed it was an atrox. I arrived at home and was greeted by the customer and several others. The customer pointed out the snake. I observed a small atrox in ambush beneath the downpipe and between a concrete lip and a drainage hole in the wall of the courtyard that was covered with 1/4 wire mesh. I used a hook to coax the snake out of the tight area and used tongs once it was out to capture it and put it in a bucket without incident. I performed an inspection of the rest of the courtyard and front yard. The yard had several overgrown lantanas and what looked like a salix hedge, with a decent amount of leaf litter beneath. I pointed these out to the customer and provided education on snake behavior. The customer had installed 1/4 mesh on courtyard gate, which was not secured. I believe snake had entered courtyard through the gate where they spotted it. I asked the customer if they’d like a free quote from the fencing team and they agreed. Performed an inspection of garage which was tidy. No other snakes found.

3:00 AM		 Phoenix 85050 Sonoran Gophersnake Called about a snake in the dining room, and the customer sent a picture to confirm it was a gopher snake. Arrived at the customer’s home and was greeted at the front door. The customer pointed out where the snake was. I saw a small juvenile gophersnake against the baseboard hidden by the curtain. I used my hands to capture and bucket a the snake with no incident. I Inspected the backyard and the rest of the home. No other snakes were found. Home was in an urbanized area, but there was some desert habitat northeast of a canal that bordered the property. There was a small drainage wash behind the home. I suspect the snake came from the drainage wash and into the backyard through the side gates as that was the only point of entry. The customer stated they left the back patio door slightly open because of the nice weather. Provided the customer some education on snake behavior this time of year. Informed the customer that snakes are rarely seen in the area of his home.

Upon arrival the customer had shown a picture but was unable to identify what species they were. Upon inspection of the yard only one was found and what was originally thought to be a rattlesnake had actually been a baby gopher snake. Once removed a very thorough inspection of the property was conducted in order to find the other two snakes. Unfortunately there was no success but the customer did say they were all very similar looking with slight variations in pigment.

With a little bit of a struggle, the snake was successfully and safely removed and captured. After a quick inspection of the property, no other snakes were found.
