12:30 PM		 Scottsdale 85255 Sonoran Gophersnake The homeowner called because they had a snake in their backyard eating quail eggs. Before calling us, they shot the snake with a pellet gun only injuring it and it disappeared into to some landscaping rocks. I flooded the rocks with water and we found the snake on the other side of the wall. It had found a way under the wall through the rocks. The snake was observed for a couple of days and after recovering it was released into deep cover.

9:30 PM		 Cave Creek 85331 Sonoran Gophersnake I was dispatched a call for a snake under trash can. Customer sent picture of snake’s head peaking out from underneath the trash can and I confirmed it was a gophersnake. Snakes neck/throat appeared extremely pinched underneath the can and I assumed it was dead but customer still wanted us to grab it. Met customer’s in the side yard where they pointed out the snake. Snakes head appeared the same as in pictures. Once I tilted the dumpster up the snake bolted and I was able to capture it with my left hand. Snake struck my left hand but no injury. I bucketed snake and performed inspection of the rest of the yard. There were two areas in the yard when quail chicks had recently hatched and I suspect the reason why the snake was in the yard. No other snakes found.

11:00 AM		 Phoenix 85054 Sonoran Gophersnake This caller had called last week for a rattlesnake removal. Today, she saw a large Sonoran Gophersnake near her front door. She and the neighbor were able to watch it while I was en route. The snake was hunkered down under a large bougainvillea bush when I arrived. I was able to remove the snake without incident.

12:30 PM		 Cave Creek 85331 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake Client called with a report of a juvenile Western Diamondback in the back corner of the rear yard near the entry gate. The snake had moved under a pile of pavers with a convenient rodent tunnel system underneath. I was able to draw the snake out with water, after having removed some of the pavers from the pile. No other snakes were recovered.

6:00 PM		 Peoria 85383 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowner called after his kids had spotted a rattlesnake in their garage. The kids were home alone at the time, and a neighbor waited with them until I arrived. The snake was just inside the garage door, and it was immediately captured. The garage was packed full of boxes and miscellaneous, common items, and if the snake had not been waiting out in the open, it would have been extremely difficult to locate and capture. The home was located in a North Peoria development very close to a large wash and bordered by steep, rocky hills. The neighbor mentioned to me that he often noticed the garage left open for long periods of time. I thoroughly searched the garage, front and back yard but did not find any other snakes.

9:00 AM		 Sun City 85251 Mojave Rattlesnake The homeowners pest person spotted the snake coiled by the back door and informed the homeowner. The snake was coiled right next to a lantana in a pot that had a quail and her eggs in it. I’m not sure if the snake was aware of mom or not. The home didn’t have much cover in the yard but was really close to the dry river bottom.

12:30 PM		 Phoenix 85083 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowner was out in the yard with her dog when she noticed it was getting rattled at by a rattlesnake by her shed. The dog did not get close and after getting them inside she called us. The snake was up against the shed behind some ladders when I arrived. I was able to easily capture the snake. The home was on an acre and a half but the majority of the property was clean and clear of debris. She did have a shipping container and a pile of big rocks that could be a good spot for a snake. Along with some gaps under the shed where I captured the snake. Behind the house was a horse property and that was surrounded by the desert preserve.

8:00 PM		 Peoria 85383 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowners children saw a snake in their backyard and alerted their parents. Being new to the area, they called us, sent a picture for an ID, and had us out to remove it. The neonate western diamondback more than likely accessed the yard from underneath the gate as there was a solid 2” gap. The back view fence would also allow passage but this guy was too small to get over it. Quick capture and released nearby into a hole under a bush.

10:00 AM		 Mesa 85207 Sonoran Gophersnake The homeowner heard something in her garage last night but didn’t see anything. When she looked this morning she saw the big gophersnake in the corner of her garage and its head was stuck in a sticky trap. The garage was sealed well, but she said she leaves the garage door open all the time. I was able to get the snake off the trap unharmed. She has a little desert drainage behind her home and also a golf course nearby.

1:00 PM		 Marana 85658 Coachwhip The customer was outside doing yoga and saw a sizable black Coachwhip cruising about. I had just removed a smaller, red individual from this address a few weeks back. The yard is free of debris and there are no obvious signs of rodent or bird activity. The customer reported that they don’t usually even see lizards within the fencing. There is a nice pool with a waterfall. Maybe the snakes are smelling the water and spooling themselves over the fence. The customers think the snakes may be falling off the roof but it seems like quite a height for them to yeet themselves from, so it is possibly unlikely.

7:30 PM		 Phoenix 85020 Southwestern Speckled Rattlesnake The hotel called about a rattlesnake found near the A Different Point of View Restaurant by some guests. The snake was located at the top of the mountain on a trail. A hotel worker was keeping an eye on it from a distance. The guest had thrown rocks at it and injured it, but it did look like it could recover. The snake was relocated on the backside of the mountain in deep cover of some rocks away from the hotel.

12:00 AM		 Phoenix 85044 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake A security guard called about seeing a rattlesnake outside of a Charles Schwab office near South Mountain. When I arrived, the snake had moved into a man-made drainage of large river rocks. It was bed down under a small pile of rocks and was found after a short search. The close proximity to open, native habitat makes this a frequent location for snake removal calls.

2:00 PM		 Peoria 85383 Sonoran Gophersnake The homeowner was startled when she saw a gophersnake in her backyard near her pool. In a panic, but not intending to harm the snake, she managed to trap it by pinning its tail under the foot of a lawn chair. When I arrived, the snake was still pinned. The chair was not heavy, and it had only pinched the very end of the tail leaving a small impression. Holding the snake, I was able to get a closer look at its tail. There were no lesions or bleeding, and the snake was acting quite normal. The home is in a Peroia neighborhood situated very close to a mountain preserve, with several natural drainages running through out. The back yard had a pool, but no landscaping or irrigation. There was a typical arrangement of patio furniture, potted plants, and a grill. Gaps under and around her gate as well as a drain in the block wall were plenty big enough for a snake twice its size to easily enter or exit. The homeowner was interested in having these entry points covered with snake fencing. I searched the rest of the property and did not find any other snakes.

4:30 PM		 Cave Creek 85331 Kingsnake Customer watched a kingsnake enter her garage as she opened it. There was standing water on the large leaves of overgrown agave right next to the garage door as well as rodent activity, which is likely what attracted the snake to this area. I advised the client to trim the agave and eliminate the rodent problem to reduce risk of additional reptile visitors. No other snakes were recovered.

It then coiled up right by the trash can, so she called me to remove it. Her home is surrounded by a lot of open desert. She does have our fencing in the backyard.

3:30 PM		 Anthem 85086 Sonoran Gophersnake A tenant at an apartment complex called saying that he had seen two rattlesnakes in a common area near the front of his building. I arrived to find the man standing in front of a small bush. He told me that he had watched the snakes crawl into the bush and that he had been watching it ever since. I immediately saw that it was not two rattlesnakes but just one gopher snake. This was actually the second consecutive call for me, in which two rattlesnakes ended up being just one gophersnake. This apartment complex was in a heavily developed area near a busy intersection in North Phoenix, not far from I-17. It was also close to a large wash that led out into the native desert. I did not ask if he wanted to leave it, deciding that it was not a safe area for any snake to be.

5:00 PM		 Paradise Valley 85253 Sonoran Gophersnake The homeowner just moved in a short while ago. He called about a rattlesnake in the backyard. Upon arrival, I was able to identify the snake as a Sonoran Gophersnake. The yard has SOME protective measures taken, but the homeowner would like to have the fencing team come out and quote to seal it properly. No additional snakes were recovered.

5:00 PM		 Phoenix 85028 Coachwhip,Coachwhip The homeowner called about two pink slender snakes that were underneath some debris in their backyard. When I arrived, the Coachwhips had separated with one remaining in the same spot and the other on the side of the yard under some roof tiles. Both were a relatively easy catch as far as this species goes. Home is a few streets in from the small mountain range nearby but not too far for a Coachwhip to travel. Likely a mating pair as well, one male and one female. The yard had some minor improvements to be made as far as trimming bushes and discarding debris but nothing crazy. Both side gates had gaps that the homeowner will address via our fencing team.

10:00 PM		 Scottsdale 85266 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake, Western Diamondback Rattlesnake Received a call regarding two rattlesnakes in the backyard. When I arrived, the customer greeted me in the driveway and escorted me to the backyard. The customer stated he had captured one with a golf club and put it in a 5-gallon bucket with another 5-gallon bucket stacked on top of it to seal it. I peeked inside and noticed a large female atrox. The real work began when the customer showed me the pool equipment storage area where he said “the bigger one” was. The customer pointed out a gap underneath the eaves of the wall below their back patio. There were a few pumps with hoses, wires, and conduits running parallel to the wall that were above and in front of the gap. When I initially flooded the hole the male atrox appeared but stayed close to the gap and within all the hoses and conduits. I utilized the tongs several times to attempt to capture but the snake had itself wrapped between the equipment and hoses and I was not successful. Continued flooding and observing in about 10-15 min increments. There were several times when a large shed would flush out but no snake. I would have to stop each time to allow the water pooling up inside the area to drain. Snake reappeared after my 4th attempt of flooding but remained on the breach of the gap. Used the hose to gently spray the snake directly and it darted out to the side opposite of the gap where I was able to successfully capture it with my tongs. Massive atrox. The biggest I’ve personally seen. At least 4ft and likely bigger. Very heavy snake. Bucketed him with no incident. The snake was actually very mellow considering everything I put him through. The snake was old and I suspect had lived there for years considering all the development within the area (The Boulders). The customer stated that when he purchased the home that the builder said that he believed a snake was living in that location. The customer stated he is interested in fencing around the pool equipment area but I do not think the customer has an actual fence that runs around his backyard.

10:00 AM		 Phoenix 85054 Mojave Rattlesnake Very nice homeowners who did not know who we were but their neighbor made the call for them when they found a snake in the front yard. They had the rattlesnake already contained in a plastic box with a lid when I arrived. They were interested in our services and hearing about our company. A crowd had gathered so I passed around business cards. Tim (homeowner) is living in this home temporarily for the next year while he builds his home up north. He is interested in snake fencing but not yet because the new home is not complete but will reach out in 1 year and possibly reach out for dog training as well per his wife at a later time.

When I arrived the snake was stretched out under the same bush, likely enjoying the shade and moisture. The property has quite a large amount of vegetation but it is well kept in the rear yard. No additional snakes were recovered.

The homeowner was able to keep an eye on it until I arrived. The snake was removed without incident. No other snakes were recovered. This home is completely unprotected and backed straight to a desert area. It’s likely the vegetation and large pool are attracting these snakes.

11:30 PM		 Scottsdale 85255 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake Received a call regarding a rattlesnake in a driveway. Arrived at the customer’s home and was greeted outside by them. The customer pointed out where he first noticed the snake in the large driveway and that he tracked it slowly moving south to some landscaping as he waited for me to arrive. I observed a young g juvenile atrox in ambush underneath a small creosote. Utilized oversized tweezers to capture with no issue. The snake had three segments in its rattle. Performed an inspection of both front and backyard, which were huge and no other snakes were found. Both yards were largely neat and tidy. I provided education on snake behavior and pointed out some areas a snake might seek refuge in the summer months. Customer stated that the builder installed 1/4” mesh around the view fence but not around gate entrances on either side of the yard. Home and development are new and surrounded by habitat on all sides. I suspect the snake was likely just moving through the property before it was found by the customer and the dog.
