Sahuarita 85629 Sonoran Gophersnake The snakes were originally found by the customer while setting up Halloween decorations. They had witnessed 3 snakes exit the same hole. Upon arrival the customer had shown a picture but was unable to identify what species they were. Upon inspection of the yard only one was found and what was originally thought to be a rattlesnake had actually been a baby gopher snake. Once removed a very thorough inspection of the property was conducted in order to find the other two snakes. Unfortunately there was no success but the customer did say they were all very similar looking with slight variations in pigment.

Sierra Vista 85615 None Customer had concern of area he loved at because of a few rattlesnake encounters he has had since moving in, in September. He wanted through inspection of his 3.58 acres, common walled in area and garage. I started in walled area. While I was inspecting I also photographed his gates and drainage holes to send to Jill for fencing info. No finds. There was very minimal amount of work needed to do in backyard. The acreage I surveyed had very tall brush. So I used transects experience and paced back and forward to front and of property line. I did find a couple snake skins but no active snake encounters. The garage last night had a rattlesnake in it, but this morning he had the fire department come out and catch the snake. Which was a Mojave rattlesnake. For the estimate the customer will need both gates done. 1 single and a double gate. He had a total of 9 drainage holes. 6 standard, 2 horizontal and narrow holes and 1 double hole. Also noticed 2 breaches in concrete wall. 1 on side near gate and the other near a drainage hole. The customer appreciated that we were able to go that south and had pleasant experience. End of report

The one stuck was rather easily removed, but it was extremely exhausted as its body was suspended in the air, I was able to release it into a packrat nest and am hopeful it makes a full recovery. Please call for a fence referral that is somewhat involved.

Green Valley 85614 None Customer was interested in inspection because he wanted a professionals input on how the 8 rattlesnakes got into his yard this year. He believed he had a secured common area. Upon arrival I noticed the fencing itself was 1/2 all the way around his yard. I told him that the recommendation for fencing is 1/4 inch mesh. I was also able to find 4 separate gaps that would allow nearly any size rattlesnake access to backyard. Once the perimeter fence area was checked for breaches I searched through yard for active snakes. I did not find any snakes. But there were 2 bird feeders with ground below covered in seed. In the seed I noticed rodent drippings as well. I recommended that they no longer use bird seed. I also recommended large plants including lantana be trimmed up so that they don’t provide deep shade for rattlesnakes. I noticed the yard plants all had drip systems. I informed about drip systems sometimes creating excess water. I did find a small rattlesnake skin in lantana in front yard area. Although an active snake was not found he truly appreciated the feedback given. He may contact us for fencing in the future. End of report.

Green Valley 85614 Mojave Rattlesnake Homeowner was bitten by a rattlesnake yesterday in their yard which then escaped into the garage afterwards. I was contacted by friend and family to come search for the snake. Luckily I was able to find a young mohave rattlesnake in the garage pretty easily. I relocated the snake and gave them the proper ID to pass onto the medical staff. They would like fencing for their yard, it would be one gate and a few cracks in a brickwall fenced yard.

Benson 85602 None Derek originally talked to this customer, but was unable to do the inspection, due to his being out of town. Customer was bitten and envenomated by a young, probable Western Diamondback, last week. Was doing some work on the front of the house, and was bitten in the right hand by a rattlesnake hiding in the weeds and grass. Snake was most likely near its winter retreat, and has quite possibly left to forage. Ironically customer had killed a large adult shortly before suffering his bite. Not a candidate for fencing, but educated him on snake safety and on how to reduce sightings by cleaning up debris.

Buckeye 85396 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake There was a rattlesnake in the front yard, likely coming from a nearby wash. The snake was injured, likely from the encounter with the homeowner before I arrived. It was still able to move fine and rattle its tail, with only a small amount of blood present on the tail, so I deemed it releasable. No other snakes were found.

10:30 AM
Buckeye 85396 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake, Western Diamondback Rattlesnake Was dispatched a call about a rattlesnake by front door for the past few days. Arrived at home and approached front door where I noticed young adult atrox in ambush in the corner of entryway. I then noticed another large adult atrox behind a planter pot around the corner from the entryway. Used tongs to capture first atrox. Snake struck my tongs twice as I captured it. Used tongs again to capture second atrox and bucketed without incident. Performed inspection of the rest of the front yard and backyard. Customer stated she had not noticed the larger atrox at all and believes it may have arrived after the smaller one. No other snakes were found, but I did find a deceased gamble’s quail in the backyard. Backyard had RS fence installed earlier in the summer. Both snakes came from the wash which ran to the north behind and to the east of home. I suspect one of the snakes, perhaps the larger one, may have been in pursuit of the quail which had gotten into the backyard. Thankfully the fence worked and kept both rattlesnakes out.
