Saturday they noticed blood and puss on there dogs nose they thought it got poked by a cactus. They noticed some swelling so they took it to the vet. The vet ran some tests and said it was a snake bite. They had a shed that didn’t have much in it and was kind of light so we took everything out and lifted it up. Sure enough a juvenile western diamondback was coiled underneath. The dog is expected to make a full recovery.

This time the gentleman was brushing his teeth when he heard hissing. He thought his sink was leaking. He looked around and on the side of the mirror, there were light fixtures around the sink. The juvenile gophersnake was wrapped around the light which was at head level. The guy isn’t afraid of snakes so he caught it and put it in a bucket until I arrived. I’ve looked around their house before more of a mansion but their sliding doors don’t seal very well so that could have been where it got in I assume months ago.

Then they quickly realized it had a head and sure enough it was a juvenile rattlesnake just coiled up in the cup holder enjoying its winter.

It crawled underneath some boxes before I got there but I was able to find it and get it out pretty easily. Search the rest of the garage as much as I could but no signs of other snakes. Because it is a young of year, I believe that it is alone and unlikely that others would be there as well.

Baby atrox from this year likely entered the yard underneath gate in the side yard and was denning most likely underneath concrete blocks that they had recently started tearing out. Snake fell into a window well that was a few feet below ground level and had no way to get out.

Customer went outside right as it started raining for the first time in months and snake was out on patio getting a drink. Likely entered yard through gap under the gate, which was right next to the patio. House is across the street from a undeveloped hillside.

This is the 3rd rattlesnake I’ve caught at the property. 2nd near that planter. (Dave has also caught 3 there). I advised her to clear some debris around front door area and also move that planter. Unfortunately the front area is completely open so fencing isn’t something that could help them. The snake was released immediately afterwards. End of report.

When I arrived snake remained in same spot near entrance of garage in corner, in a coiled position. I captured the snake immediately. Did not display any defensive postures until was safely in my bucket. Snake was released immediately afterwards. End of report.
2020-12-07 11:30 AM	Cave Creek	85262	None	I arrived and she had told me that the home inspector saw snake shed-skins, and that her neighbor has seen snakes in her yard in the past. She is new from Indiana and is freaked out at the aspect of snakes. I thoroughly searched the backyard, the surrounding desert outside of her back fence, the A/C units, pool pump area, the inner courtyard, garage and all its cabinets, and the front yard shrubbery. No snakes were found but a fair amount of rodent activity was observed in the front yard. I advised to keep up on pest control and landscaping. Answered her questions but left the fencing questions for Jill who is scheduled to come tomorrow for a fencing estimate. I also explained that an inspection at this time of year is different than their peak season and she plans on another in the spring. I was there for just over an hour. She is interested in dog training and pointed her to Rattlesnake Ready.

It was in the high 30s last night and the snake wasn’t really in a good spot for warmth. This was this years baby healthy little one. Three houses down there was a large desert wash I believe the snake probably came from there. The yard didn’t have much for cover.

The snake was in a defensive position the whole time I think the dog really freaked it out. Near the snake some of the patio got uplifted by the roots of a nearby tree this could of been where the snake was hanging out before it came out for some sun. It is really cold out so I doubt the snake was just out in the open like it was for long. They have a big yard with brick all around. A few drain holes and gates.

The snake was coiled up under the grill it was one of those grills that’s surrounded by concrete and it was obvious rodents had been hanging out in there. I bet the snake had plans to stay for the winter. They said they have seen a lot of snakes in there yard this year. They are surrounded by desert and have a view fence.

They where outside enjoying the sun when the gentleman saw the rattlesnake coiled up in his back corner of his yard. They have a view fence with a golf course behind it, then desert behind that. Seems like the snake just climbed over the wall. The yard had a few over grown plants but other than that not much other than location attracting the snake .

She was pretty sure it was a harmless baby snake but turned out to be a western diamondback. There garage door does not seal and has big gap on the bottom when closed I recommend some ways to seal that up. I checked the rest of the yard everything was great just trimming up a few things. They have a brick fence a gate and one drain hole and are interested in fencing.

We've done about a quarter of their property and they're going to have the rest of the property snake fence next year sometime. He knows that there's a charge for this because the area isn't fully snake proof yet.

Inspected customers yard, found no attractants, however customer is a corner house in a highly developed area where movement and displacement is still fairly heavy

When I arrived snake remained defensive in exact same place as seen. The customers did an amazing job of maintaining a visual of the animal. She saw the little long nose stick it’s head through a poor seal on the front door. It couldn’t get in but after seeing that she didn’t want to take chances so I came and got it.

She called me and I went out immediately to find a large western Diamondback still on her front porch. I removed it without incident and released it into a pack rat nest.

They have a brick fence with just one gate. There yard is very well maintained not a lot of bushes. They have a golf course and desert near by.

I don’t think there was a snake to begin with. She has a brick fence, a few drain holes and a gate.

While at the home I caught an additional rattlesnake as well. Both snakes displayed defensive behavior and were a bit of a challenge to capture and place in a bucket. But it was completed. A perimeter inspection was completed and there were no further finds. End of report.

They sold it today and went to move it when they saw the atrox coiled underneath. It was in the 40s last night and has been pretty cold, I wouldn’t be surprised if the snake was there for a bit. They have a brick fence, an rv gate, and a drain hole. Their house backs up to a large preserve.
