Chandler 85249 Sonoran Gophersnake The homeowner went into the garage to grab something when she saw a snake stuck in a glue trap she had set there. It was a juvenile gophersnake. I was able to remove it unharmed. It had a kink in its neck but was slithering normally. The garage had some gaps, and the door had been left open for some time. There were a couple of grassy areas and a large canal nearby; otherwise, the area was all homes.

Paradise Valley 85253 Sonoran Gophersnake Homeowner called about a rattlesnake in his backyard. Upon arrival, I discovered that it was a large gophersnake with a fresh meal in its belly. The home backs right up to a golf course, so the gopher snake was just likely cruising and found its way into the yard. I released the snake back onto the golf course into a wash with plenty of deep cover, shade, and thick vegetation.

It eventually started to move and went under the manufactured home. The home also had a large deck surrounding it that was hollow underneath. We removed some siding where they had seen the snake go under, but it was nowhere to be found. There was another open hatch on the opposite side of the house, so I peeked in and saw a rattlesnake cruising toward the opening. I was able to grab the snake. The home was built on a desert hillside with a lot of rocks and had open desert just across the street. Under the home was a nice, cool spot, perfect for the snake.

Scottsdale 86260 Coachwhip The homeowner called about a snake in the garage. When I arrived, I saw a coachwhip next to the freezer. The garage was cluttered, so my initial grab was unsuccessful and the snake retreated underneath the expansion joint in the concrete. When I lifted the joint, I could see a small part of the snake in the gap while the rest was under the garage floor slab. I poured some water into the joint to get the snake to move and reveal himself a bit more. Given the tight space, I had to improvise and used some crazy straws I found in the garage to wedge the snake out, and I was finally able to grab him.

Glendale 85310 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The rattlesnake was by the sliding back door in the backyard. The homeowner backs up to a wash in a small island near thunderbird conservation park that hasn’t yet been developed. The neighborhood itself has a large natural wash running through it and a big patch of natural desert inside of the community. Homeowner also had a pool, a lot of unmanaged vegetation, and a view fence that was only two blocks high. A lot of the communities have overtaken the natural Sonoran Desert. They said they want to wait for their parents to get back from vacation but will call for fencing.
