Scottsdale 85266 Sonoran Gophersnake Has a rattlesnake sticking out of bait box. Doesn’t know if it’s dead or clamped. It ended up being a gopher snake. It has been dead for a few days. Search the yard and found no evidence of other animals. In the front, I found a shed skin from an old gopher snake.

Scottsdale 85266 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake This rattlesnake had wedged itself underneath the door threshold in this Scottsdale backyard. The homeowner had stepped over it multiple times before seeing it. The yard had full-view fencing covering 3/4 of the backyard and many low bushes for this guy to hang out in. The capture required a hook to coox the snake out but then an easy grab and relocation to a nice desert spot where a man made rock pile had turned into a giant packrat nest.

Surprise 85387 Sidewinder The homeowner of a home in Sun City West has a Sidewinder on his front porch in a corner by the front door. As he was leaving the home, he said he noticed something that looked out of place but did not at first register what he was looking at. The snake never moved and never made a sound. This home was located near flat and sandy native habitat and was only about 3 years old. I searched the entire property and did not find any additional snakes.

Phoenix 85085 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowner called us after seeing a rattlesnake curled up in the shade of his front porch near the front door. This home in North Phoenix was in a development just across the street from a large area of native desert. The yard had plenty of irrigated landscaping, but the shaded area around the front door was significantly cooler than the sunny front yard only feet away. I searched both the front and back yards and did not find any other snakes.

Scottsdale 85255 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake A homeowner who lives out of state part of the year and uses this home as his snowbird/vacation home was contacted by his monthly window cleaner because they found a rattlesnake in the courtyard of the home. The home has a maze of a courtyard going through the center of it surrounded by a block wall fence system some of the outermost block walls have view fences and a series of gates. The home is in a developed gated community that has desert landscaping and lots of rock features. The back side of the community has a small remaining patch of natural habitat. The homeowner is interested in rattlesnake proofing the property. Overall, it may be easy to do if the outermost fencing and block walls are fenced, I will let him know the fencing team could be in contact with him to discuss what it would take to Rattlesnake proof the yard/courtyard. The snake had to be driven slightly out of range to the nearest natural preserve area as the community is only adjacent to very small remaining sections of natural habitat that seem to connect directly to the golf course and other plots of homes. The snake was released in the preserve, in a wash, in a deep series of holes/tunnels within the root system of a dead tree that had an adjoining pack rat nest.

Tucson 85745 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake This homeowner called us when she discovered a large Western Diamondback Rattlesnake sitting in ambush under a lawn decoration while she was watering her plants. She called us just the day before to remove a large Western Diamondback from her backyard. This one was close to being just as large. I arrived quickly and secured the snake, gave it some water, conducted a thorough inspection, and found a nearby wash to release the snake into. A large, deep rodent burrow alongside a wash with cover made for an optimal release spot.

Surprise 85379 Sonoran Gophersnake We were called to a Surprise neighborhood after a homeowner had spotted a Gophersnake while letting his dog out. There were large gaps under the gate, as well as an open drain in the block wall. The snake was quickly removed, and no other snakes were found.

San Tan 85143 Sonoran Sidewinder The homeowner called after noticing a small rattlesnake curled up in the corner near his front door. When I arrived the homeowner was inside but directed me to the front door where as described was a small Sonoran Sidewinder curled up in the left corner of the entryway. The snake was contained and I inspected the rest of the property for any other snakes. The home is located in a developed gated community but the home was on the outside edge of that community with sandy desert scrub land and natural habitat just beyond its walls on the other side of the road. The snake was brought to the area of natural desert within its home range far from the road and homes leading up to some hillsides and let go within an active ground squirrel burrow beneath creosote bushes.

Stanfield 85172 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowner called stating there was a rattlesnake coiled up in her barn. When I arrived the home was located in a vast agricultural community, the snake was coiled up in the shaded open horse barn where the homeowner found it during feeding. The snake was bucketed and driven away from all other homes and private agricultural land to as nearby a natural habitat as possible a wash containing heavy amounts of natural trees and shrubs I found a deep shaded root system with holes going into it for the snake to get deep cover.

Tucson 85745 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake This homeowner called when she found a large Western Diamondback Rattlesnake sitting in ambush under a lawn decoration in her backyard. She’s no stranger to rattlesnakes and has utilized our services several times in the past- having 7 rattlesnakes removed just last year. When I arrived, she was patiently watching the rattlesnake- ensuring it did not flee while I was en route. I secured the large rattlesnake in the bucket, gave it some room-temperature water to cool it down and give it a chance to hydrate, and found suitable habitat nearby to release it to. There was a large wash with rocky outcrops that made for an appropriate release site. I found a deep rodent burrow directly underneath a Saguaro, covered by a large boulder and plants which provided shade above the entrance to the burrow. The snake was released into a suitable habitat within its home range, hopefully to live the rest of its life without human interaction.

Phoenix 85031 Albino corn snake Homeowners in the middle of well-developed Phoenix called stating they saw an orange snake go underneath their refrigerator. When I arrived I could see rat droppings around the base of the refrigerator and had to pull the refrigerator forward when a rat jumped out from behind it. The homeowners had a wood panel taped to the back wall behind the refrigerator where I told them I believe the snake must have gone behind as there was a small Gap that a snake could crawl into. When I removed the tape and the wood panel, there was a large albino motley corn snake and I explained to the homeowners that this is a pet snake and they were not familiar with the snake at all. It was not one of their pets and they said they lived there for 10 years. So I took the snake with me where I will potentially keep it as a pet.

It was not determined how the snake ended up in the garage, but it was small and could have entered through a gap in the weather stripping, if not through the open garage door while it was open for a short time.
