When I arrived it had moved slightly outside of the fence where it likely came in as there didn't appear to be any other access points in the yard.

5:30 PM		 Phoenix 85048 Southwestern Speckled Rattlesnake Homeowner called about a snake in her front courtyard, she was fairly certain that it was a rattlesnake. When I arrived, I discovered the speckled rattlesnake curled up beneath a large flower pot near her front entryway. There was a lot of shade and a large wash beside the house, so the snake was likely on the move this morning and found a place to stay out of the heat during the day. Snake released into a small cave in the side of a wash within home range and away from homes.

7:00 AM		 Phoenix 85048 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowner was checking on some new plants he just put in that were by his front door when he saw the rattlesnake coiled up against the home. This little corner was nice and cool and he had water going to the plants. The home was a corner house with the desert right on the side of it and behind it.

The home sits way up on South Mountain with a large drainage near-by. The property is large and does not have any barrier from the surrounding desert. She is a previous customer. Her sister is staying with her and is interested in getting snake training for her dogs.

6:00 PM		 Phoenix 85048 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowner went to grab a package by the front door when she saw the rattlesnake coiled up behind a pot. The home backs right up to South Mountain Preserve. The home didn’t have much cover in the front yard or back yard. Looked like the snake was just passing through.

The backyard of the home is protected by the snake fencing we installed, which they are very happy with. I captured the snake and drove it to a nearby wash for release.

1:30 PM		 Phoenix 85048 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake, Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowner saw her delivery driver, kind of tossed her package and she was wondering why he didn’t just set it down when she went to grab the package she got rattled at by two rattlesnakes by her front door. That’s when she called me. The snake's tails were intertwined, but they were not fully locked up. I was able to get both of them in the bucket. She had a desert wash behind her house across the street and more desert beyond that and a desert little hillside on the other side of the road.

12:00 PM		 Phoenix 85048 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowner watched the snake fall into the pool and then slither out. He then lost sight of it, but it was right next to a rocky waterfall feature, so he figured it went inside there. I shinned my light in there and I saw it. I was able to put my tongs in there and grab it. The home backed up to a mountainside, and another mountainside was across the street. The yard itself didn’t have any vegetation or cover in it besides this water fall feature.

7:30 AM		 Phoenix 85048 Sonoran Gophersnake homeowner called stating that what appeared to be a rattlesnake was curled up in the backyard and the family dog alerted them of it. When I arrived they had determined it did not have a rattle, and when I went into the back yard I could see that it was infact a gopher snake stretched out along the block wall of the back yard. I picked up the snake and secured it in the bucket for relocation. The home is located in a developed community but right along a prime wash connected directly to the south mountain preserve.

8:00 PM		 Phoenix 85048 Sonoran Gophersnake Homeowner called about an unknown snake in on of their backyard planters. When I arrived, the Sonoran Gophersnake was just poking his little head out from behind a large pot. Belly full of eggs, he likely raided a small nest that was in the planter. Home is close to the base of South Mountain and has a small drainage behind it and a small hill at the end of the street. Yard was very well kept and maintained but did have gaps in the side gate so the snake likely found his way in through there. I took the snake to a nearby park that bordered a large patch of desert and released snake into a deep rodent hole under a massive shady Mesquite tree.

They had the garage open earlier for a while they said. The home backs right up to the preserve. They had a lot of vegetation in the front yard and several bird baths.

2:30 PM		 Phoenix 85048 Sonoran Gophersnake The homeowner went to get two bunnies out of the pool that had drowned. When he was outside he saw a snake tail coming out of a bush. On the outside of the bush was mom bunny and another baby bunny. He went inside because he doesn’t care for snakes. When I got there the gophersnake was on the back patio and I saw mom bunny close by. The snake had a bolus which must have been a baby bunny. The home has a little desert behind it and a lot more across the street. The homeowner had a shed in the back yard that he said had more bunnies under it.

The garage was fairly clean and the snake was fairly large, so it probably entered when the door was open. Large golf course nearby as well as a couple of patches of desert hills, most likely where the snake came from.

2:00 PM		 Phoenix 85048 Blacktailed Rattlesnake Customer stated she saw a rattlesnake that was coiled in the corner near her front door and has been sitting there all day. We discovered it was a juvenile black-tailed rattlesnake near the front door. Her property was located on a hilly outcrop near a preserve which is more than likely where the snake originated from. Upon further inspection, no more snakes were found and the yard was very well-maintained and unkept, with no concern for the backyard from the customer.

3:00 PM		 Phoenix 85048 Sonoran Gophersnake The homeowner first saw the snake by his front door. It then moved to a nearby bush. There was a hole, so I put some water in there and it came right out. The home had two grassy parks by it and a desert mountainside across the street. The yard itself didn’t have too much cover a few plants out front and a shed in the back yard.

11:30 AM		 Phoenix 85048 Southwestern Speckled Rattlesnake The homeowner called as they were servicing their tortoise water dishes in their tortoise pen in the back yard and noticed a white-ish Rattlesnake under the bowl so they called us for assistance with it. When I arrived they informed me the snake had moved into the shade of the nearby hose caddy. I went to the backyard tortoise pen and saw a beautiful large speckled Rattlesnake curled up under the hose caddy as claimed the snake was calmly transferred into the bucket where I then was able to hike up the nearby South Mountain trail away from any homes or buildings to release it into rocky cover. The home is situated in a neighborhood right up against the ideal habitat of the South Mountain Preserve.

11:30 AM		 Phoenix 85048 Sonoran Gophersnake The homeowner heard his dog barking in the back yard, so he went and looked and saw the large snake. Not knowing what kind it was, he got the dog inside and watched the snake go behind a nearby paver that was leaned on the fence. It ended up being a gophersnake. They have lived in this home for 30 years without seeing a snake. The home had a grassy yard with very little vegetation. There was an elementary school across the street and a big drainage the lead to a desert hillside on the other side of the home.

11:30 PM		 Phoenix 85048 Nightsnake The homeowner called after spotting a Desert Nightsnake inside her home near the front door. She watched it crawl into a coat closet where her three cats kept watch until I arrived. The closet was full of items that had accumulated over the years, all of which had to be removed. I finally found the snake after removing the very last item from the closet. The homeowner thinks that it might have come in with an Amazon package that had been delivered earlier in the day. It is also possible that it found a way in through a very small gap in the front door. This was the second time that we have been called out to this Ahwatukee home to remove a Desert Nightsnake. No other snakes were found.

When I arrived the lizard was not where they said it was and I had to do a lot of moving around of storage supplies in a storage closet and eventually found and captured the lizard before driving it down the road to the local park where I released it into a rock pile
