Cave Creek | 85331 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | Received a call about rattlesnake in front yard. Arrived at home where customer’s son was watching snake. I heard the snake rattling as I exited my vehicle. Observed an adult atrox that I believe was a gravid female in defensive posture in small alcove of house that faced NW. Snake continued to rattle and did so for the majority of the time I was with her until release. Utilized tongs to capture snake. Snake struck at tongs twice as I attempted to capture her. Once tonged I bucketed snake with no issue. Performed quick inspection of property. Several desert landscaping plants that were more or less maintained. No snakes observed. Provided education on snake behavior. I believe snake may have come from very small patch of desert just to the north of the street but was bordered by a busy main road to the north of that. There was small patch of desert behind customers home but house bordered by high block walls. Customer stated that this was the 2nd snake they’ve seen in several years with another being a coachwhip. Customer stated she’d like to have us do fencing but her SO wanted to do it on their own. Offered customer free quote from fence team but customer declined. |
