He then went in and when he came back he saw it slither in a near by pipe. He thought there were two. I flooded out the pipe and got the snake. I searched the whole yard and didn’t find another snake. They have a strip of desert just on the other side of the street.

The snake had a little scale damage but nothing a shed won’t fix. There were little gaps in the garage door. They backed up to a golf course and some desert not to far away.

7:00 AM		 Glendale 85310 Sonoran Gophersnake Snake reported in backyard. Customer did not want to monitor the snake but understood the fee. Upon arrival, I was shown a photo of a gopher snake’s head emerging from underneath the security door threshold. The snake was no longer in that exact area, but there was a crack in the foundation next to the door large enough for it to enter. I used a hose to flush out the gopher snake. This took more than an hour, so I cleared the yard in the meantime to ensure no other snakes were present.

7:00 AM		 Glendale 85310 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The rattlesnake was by the sliding back door in the backyard. The homeowner backs up to a wash in a small island near thunderbird conservation park that hasn’t yet been developed. The neighborhood itself has a large natural wash running through it and a big patch of natural desert inside of the community. Homeowner also had a pool, a lot of unmanaged vegetation, and a view fence that was only two blocks high. A lot of the communities have overtaken the natural Sonoran Desert. They said they want to wait for their parents to get back from vacation but will call for fencing.

6:30 PM		 Glendale 85308 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The rattlesnake was right inside the gate to the backyard. The snake was released into deep cover in the conservation park nearby. The homeowner did not seem interested in fencing at this time, but was advised to trim up the many bushes in the backyard and to cleanup the clutter piled against the walls.

11:00 AM		 Glendale 85310 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake There has been a mystery guest at the Arizona Model Railroading Society building who has been knocking over the model trains and causing havoc all over the layout for the past couple of weeks. Though they thought it was some neighborhood kids, the club members shrugged it off and put things back in place each week. Today the puzzling character revealed itself by laying on top of what is now dubbed "Rattlesnake Mountain." We were dispatched and able to safely remove the snake from his miniature mountain into a large, desert mountain preserve.

2:00 PM		 Glendale 85310 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowner was picking up a package from the front porch when she noticed a rattlesnake behind a large ceramic vase. There is only one house in between this one and the dry New River riverbed. The home is also situated very close to the Thunderbird Conservation Park. After the capture, I searched for additional snakes as well as possible places where this one may have spent the winter. The backyard had a large gap under the gate, plenty of watered landscaping, and a pool. Notably, there was a large shed that sat slightly raised off the ground. This seemed like a great hiding place, but I was unsure if it was suitable for long-term protection from the cold. I did not find any other snakes.

7:00 PM		 Glendale 85310 Sonoran Gophersnake Client called with a report of an aggressive snake on the front porch. Upon arrival, the snake was immediately identified as a Sonoran Gophersnake. In true Gophersnake fashion, it was aggressively hissing and striking. I was able to contain the snake without incident. A courtesy inspection of the front and rear yards was completed. Client was provided with advice on reducing desirability for snake activity. ie - trim large lantanas, eliminate potted plants near the entry way and keep items of the ground in the rear yard.

2:30 PM		 Glendale 85310 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake Client called with a report of a rattlesnake at a retirement home she manages/owns. \r\n\r\nStaff on site were able to observe the snake originating near the pool equipment and then settling into a coiled position against the perimeter wall. \r\n\r\nStaff directed me to the snake which I positively identified as a Western Diamondback. \r\nThe snake was removed without incident. \r\n\r\nDuring my courtesy inspection, I was able to determine that the snake was likely spending the winter under the pool equipment as there is a massive underground rodent structure with clear smoothing at the egress point, indicative of a snake exiting. \r\n\r\nThe only water source on the property was unable to reach the area so the client was advised to immediately employ someone to properly collapse/backfill the area and repair the broken travertine tiles by the pool.

Upon arrival I was able to determine that it was a gopher snake, and it was very deceased. It was already full of maggots and falling apart. I reluctantly scooped up as much as I could of it and put it in my bucket to dispose. No other snakes were removed.

When I arrived the snake was stretched out under the same bush, likely enjoying the shade and moisture. The property has quite a large amount of vegetation but it is well kept in the rear yard. No additional snakes were recovered.

12:00 PM		 Glendale 85310 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowner called after a contractor working in the home spotted a rattlesnake eating a small rabbit in the front yard. After watching the snake for several minutes, it slipped down into a hole in the ground under a bench. I gently flooded the hole and the snake emerged soon after. Once the snake was secured in the bucket, we began to walk around the property to look for other snakes and talk about prevention. The home is just outside of the Thunderbird Conservation Park. It is a large lot with a view fence surrounding the back yard and pool area. Beyond the veiw fence is an open area with unoccupied horse stalls and a few old tack sheds. There is a wash running parallel to the property with lots of thick vegetation. Most of the landscaping on the property has only recently been planted and has not yet matured. I did a search of the garage which had a lot of boxes and other household items as the home was being remodeled. The seal on the garage door was brand new and in excellent condition. The homeowners are great candidates for snake fencing and would like to be contacted.

7:30 AM		 Glendale 85310 Kingsnake The homeowner called after seeing a Kingsnake resting up against the house along the back edge of the patio. I have been to this Glendale home before. It sits just feet from a large, native wash. The yard has several sheds, irrigated landscaping, and a pool, all of which are kept very tidy. There is a gap under the gate leading to the front yard, perfect for a snake of this size. I searched the yard, but no additional snakes were found.

2:30 PM		 Glendale 85310 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake Rattlesnake was found under a dumpster. It had struck a service worker while they were walking by, and the homeowners wanted it removed. They had just had a snake in March removed by us and by comparing photos, I reassured them it was a different snake. I also spent time educating on aggressive vs defensive and because it was under the trash can that was being used, it acted more defensively due to the commotion. They have gotten a quote for snake fencing from us before and are still thinking about it.
