Glendale 85310 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowner called after a contractor working in the home spotted a rattlesnake eating a small rabbit in the front yard. After watching the snake for several minutes, it slipped down into a hole in the ground under a bench. I gently flooded the hole and the snake emerged soon after. Once the snake was secured in the bucket, we began to walk around the property to look for other snakes and talk about prevention. The home is just outside of the Thunderbird Conservation Park. It is a large lot with a view fence surrounding the back yard and pool area. Beyond the veiw fence is an open area with unoccupied horse stalls and a few old tack sheds. There is a wash running parallel to the property with lots of thick vegetation. Most of the landscaping on the property has only recently been planted and has not yet matured. I did a search of the garage which had a lot of boxes and other household items as the home was being remodeled. The seal on the garage door was brand new and in excellent condition. The homeowners are great candidates for snake fencing and would like to be contacted.

Glendale 85310 Kingsnake The homeowner called after seeing a Kingsnake resting up against the house along the back edge of the patio. I have been to this Glendale home before. It sits just feet from a large, native wash. The yard has several sheds, irrigated landscaping, and a pool, all of which are kept very tidy. There is a gap under the gate leading to the front yard, perfect for a snake of this size. I searched the yard, but no additional snakes were found.

Glendale 85310 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake Rattlesnake was found under a dumpster. It had struck a service worker while they were walking by, and the homeowners wanted it removed. They had just had a snake in March removed by us and by comparing photos, I reassured them it was a different snake. I also spent time educating on aggressive vs defensive and because it was under the trash can that was being used, it acted more defensively due to the commotion. They have gotten a quote for snake fencing from us before and are still thinking about it.

Gilbert 85203 None Received call from a customer stating that there was a rattlesnake inside of his neighbor’s house. Caller said that he lived on in a guest home on his neighbor’s lot and was calling for her. Customer stated snake got in from open front door. Arrived at property on the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Reservation and was greeted by caller who showed me inside customer’s home. Greeted customer who was on the couch and she pointed to me where she first saw the snake near a rolled up carpet between living room and the kitchen. Customer stated she saw the snake and it “rattled and growled” at her. She stated she saw the snake go further into the kitchen behind refrigerator. Kitchen was structurally in disrepair and cluttered with empty cans and trash. Called assisted in clearing out the kitchen. There was a hole in the wall near the sink that lead to the outside. Looked under refrigerator, sink, and cabinets. Structural damage and rodent litter noted throughout. Finished up in the kitchen area and inspected the outside property. Property sits between 2 large agricultural fields and called stated it is flood irrigated. Many overgrown grasses and perennial plants around property. Poked my head under crawl space and noted a water leak from inside the home with water pooling. Pointed out all areas to caller and provided education on snake behavior. Performed quick inspection of the rest of the home. The rooms were packed with belongings and inaccessible for the most part. I suspect if there was a snake it may have been a gophersnake as the customer stated it was a yellow color and hissed. The owner of the home seemed like she may not have been fully aware of what was happening. Opted to not charge the customers and told the owner if she sees the snake again to call us.

Gilbert 85296 None Last night the resident saw a king snake by her door. A few weeks ago she had another king snake by her home as well. This is in a little community where all the homes are connected kind of like town homes. There is lots of well-watered vegetation and probably rodents around. I didn’t notice anything by her home specifically that would be a reason why the kingsnake was over there besides some rodent droppings by the AC unit, and her home backs up to a walkway area that leads to an open lot.

Gilbert 85298 Mojave Rattlesnake The homeowner called and said that she had spotted a rattlesnake outside her garage as she was pulling into the driveway. She was concerned that it would find its way into the backyard. I arrived just over an hour later. There was a large gap under the gate leading into the backyard. I started there and followed the block wall all the way around to the other side ot the property just in time to find the little Mojave working its way towards another exit point. The home was situated right next to a very large wash and had a view fence in the back.

Gilbert 85298 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake Homeowner called about a Rattlesnake in their backyard. The young Western Diamondback had curled up inside of a small trash bin and stayed there until I picked it up. Not much habitat around here so this snake was probably lucky that these people spotted it and wanted it humanely dealt with. I had to take the snake a bit further away to some better habitat but since its not even a year old it will have a much better chance of surviving being out of that area. Snake relocated into deep cover or a rock retaining wall along a canal in south Gilbert.

Gilbert 85298 Mojave Rattlesnake A homeowner in Gilbert called about a small Mojave Rattlesnake under her in-ground trampoline. Hard to say whether or not the snake had just arrived or spent the winter down there but either way it was likely unable to escape so I’m glad it was spotted. Home borders the Reservation land to the south of Gilbert so the snake likely came from that area. Placed the snake into a large rodent burrow at the base of a palo verde tree where it will have a much better chance of survival.
