Snakes tail damage didn’t seem to effect its health, but it was unable to rattle. Seemed like it had paralysis an inch or so above the tail, as the rattle just kind of dangled there no matter what the snake was doing. Tail damage could have been from construction. |

I received a call from a homeowner about a possible rattlesnake being heard in a bush in front of house. The homeowners parents had heard loud buzzing noises coming from a bush located in front of the homeowners house and they had alerted the homeowner who then gave a call to Rattlesnake Solutions. While driving to the location I received another call from the homeowner about another possible rattlesnake being heard by their parents in the bushes across from the original, meaning possibly two animals present. Upon arriving I quickly determined that the noises were not rattlesnakes, but instead the annual cicadas singing in the nearby trees. After a thorough search of the bushes in question and the remaining brush on the property, I was unable to locate any snakes. As such, I informed the homeowners parents of the best way to reduce the chances of a snake staying on the property, such as clearing all the brush that had grown on the property as well as discussed with them various snake species they might encounter in the future, including harmless and beneficial species that are fine to keep around such as Sonoran Gopher Snakes, California Kingsnakes, and Coachwhip Snakes. |

After arriving one of the homeowners guided me to the location where the other was watching the snake. Upon inspection, the animal was determined to be a young Mojave Rattlesnake which had sheltered itself next to the homeowners standing grill. The snake was quickly captured and relocated to a large rodent burrow in a nearby wash with still active pools of water, as well as abundant plant and animal life. The yard where the snake was found had many objects bunched up along the sidewall of the house which could have attracted the snake as a source of shelter. |

Upon safely removing the lid the species was determined to be a Blacktailed Rattlesnake. Shortly thereafter the snake was relocated further along the same mountain the homeowners property resided under a concealed rocky overhang. Increased activity due to recent monsoon rains could potentially explain the snakes presence. |

I suspect that there is some sort of burrow or hole underneath the bush that the snakes disappeared into. customer is going to schedule his landscaper to come and remove rosemary bush while I am present so that any snakes found in the bush can be promptly removed.
