They told me this is the smaller one. They also said there may be some smaller ones also. I was able to capture the snake and safely put it in bucket. It was released immediately afterwards. The home is in the contact zone along Camelback where Speckled Rattlesnakes can be found, so I assumed this would be correct. I found a Gophersnake, however, in bad condition. I let it cool off and drink water, then released it up the mountain to deep cover.

I searched the property then went into the wash to dig through a packrat nest. I found the snake quickly and removed it. The homeoowner opted to keep it there to help with the pigeon problem.
